Overkill On Reverend Wright
Keith Olbermann and the guy from Newsweek had no right to call him a buffoon on last night's Countdown...That was over the top...

Thank you...

4. Fill me in,
Have they reverted back to Obama's words.

If they have, this is a good thing. The past 2 days, the focus has been on Wright, by Wright's design. Since he is no longer a wanted figure for Obama, I was hoping they would get the focus back to just Obama. If they are parsing Obama's words, again, that is a great turn.

5. Fox is doing what all the Repukes are doing
It amazes me how for months they call Wright a kook, and then when Obama distances himself, they all side with Wright in the belief that Obama is just doing it for politics. Its quite astounding to hear them all say that. But Brian Kilmeade defended him, while Gretchen Carlson, and Steve Douchey continue to bring up his typical white person remarks and how they say he threw her under the bus. I wanted to throw something at the teevee, but then realized, its just FOx, and they smear him all the time.

8. This is good. THey can have a day or two, at the most,
of saying "Obama threw Wright under the bus"

Or "Why did it take him 20 years?"

But, that is not a ratings booster. It can't sustain itself like more words from Wright could, when Obama still welcomed his support. We have finally seen the peak of the Wright Brouhaha.

The next faux-outrage we be along shortly, and it should be Hillary's turn, we'll see in a day or two.

13. Why do keep giving Fox advertisers your eyeballs?
I mean seriously... what's wrong with you?
Why do you feed the enemy like this, while filling your head with crap?

2. It has been overkill from every direction in regards to Wright in the media.
The original compilation of clips, played in loop, were far more damaging than what has happened this week.

Wright has proven to be a loud spoken individual who has little to no concern for Obama's candidacy. His media show this past week draws the contrast between him and Obama, and reveals Wright for the self-server he is. In the long run, the association between the two will be lessened.

It is over the top to call him a buffoon. But, Wright gave Obama a hurtful gift. He renewed and expanded his controversial comments. A hurt Obama cut him loose.

3. I Disagree With Some But Not All Of What Reverend Wright Said
Especially on the inherent difference between blacks and whites...If you look at DNA studies we are 99.55555 % alike...

But he is not a buffoon...

7. I think the proper way to describe it is that at the National Press Club, he made a fool of himself
I havent seen the video yet, so I cant comment, but from what I have seen, Obama is right in that he caricatured himself. So I think it is correct to say that he made a fool of himself. Calling him a buffoon is probably a little too much, but you arent going to see too many people defending him anywhere.

6. Ahhh did you see the part where he was doing comical voices?
They got it dead on right. Funny guy, but no way he should have a national stage.

10. I have no problem with most of Wright's comment ...
i really wish he could have just stayed below the radar for awhile . The NPC was a bad move and i still think he was lulled in by Clinton supporters

11. I don't have a problem with most of Rev. Wright's comments either.
But, I'm glad he spoke now rather than later...and he was going to speak out.

12. I Had A Problem With Some Of The Things He Said
The thing that got me was his suggestion that blacks and whites are inherently different... I have spent my entire life thinking that notion is bunk... Our DNA is 99.5555% the same... Most differences are cultural... His right brain/left brain explanation reminded me of Richard Herrnstein's and Charle's Murrays thesis that differences in I Q are largely immutable and inherent...

15. I Have Given This A Lot Of Thought
America is flawed because individuals are flawed...Some folks with power will use their power to help the powerless...Some folks with power will use their power to keep the powerless that way... But that's not unique to America... Any nation as powerful as America would have acted the same way, probably worse...

What I disagreed with is the notion that there are inherent and immutable differences between the races...Most differences are cultural, ephemeral, and anything but immutable...
