I'm a skeptic
Rev. Wright didn't appear to me to have been close to retirement. He is as sharp as a tack and has physical stamina. Did Obama's campaign ask him to resign so Obama could have some cover?

We all know they planned over a year ago that Obama might have to disown Wright, this is well documented.

So I really wonder how sincere this "divorce" is. If Reverend Wright does not say something in return after Barack called him a caricature, then I will have my answer.

8. Where does a dude's pastor come in on in a list of important issues?
Tell me where I go wrong here. This is my prediction for you:

1. Pastor
2. Flag pin
3. War
4. Health care
5. Economy
6. Elitist

1 & 2 & 6 would override the significance of his opponent being pro-war, anti-health care, and an economy destroyer right?

Screw the war, economy, and health care as long as my candidate doesn't have a crazy pastor!

He's 67 years old. You're up to your usual tricks of mischaracterizing. And you're confusing paranoia with skepticism.

7. Wright basically said Obama was a politician and will say anything to get elected. This
is what really ticked off Obama and hence the 'outrage' yesterday.
It made no sense for Wright to suddenly go on this speaking tour since the controversy was dying out. Seems to me Wright was put out from the Race speech?--Obama's initial cracking down on Wright and his sermons.
I do not know what sort of deal that Wright and Obama may have had a month ago. But it does seem to have crumbled.

the illusion that he is above the fray. Truth is he is not. Wright pointed that out publicly.

22. I know they're both men. I'm referring to the fact that you expect Sen. Obama
to "remain above the fray," while others are attempting to bash his brains out. No man (or woman, for that matter) should remain quiet while others are trying to ruin him.

"Obama has given the illusion that he is above the fray. Truth is he is not. Wright pointed that out publicly."

15. exactly ... the implication that he's lying about his denunciation just smacks of egotism
I'm sure that Obama must have at some point realized that his relationship with the Rev was going to be a problem but lets be clear, that in no way implies a disingenuous denunciation. In fact quite the opposite. If you realize that the statements someone made are inflammatory enough to prepare a public separation in advance, you probably didn't agree with them to begin with.

9. So if the Reverend doesn't do Hillary's bidding by lambasting Obama...
the "divorce" is not "sincere." How convenient.

11. "How convenient" of you to continue to blame Hillary for those two having their public
spat! Figures though as you folks blame her for most everything.
And since you do, you are not credible.

And, what happens when you get your "answer." Oh, I know -- you will stop supporting Sen. Obama.

16. the entire Wright thing is a manufactured non-issue
being pushed by the hillary campaign, her supporters, the GOP and their lackeys in the press.

this is exactly the kind of thing that drives Americans away from politics. It's completely irrelevant but hillary's only chance to see Obama defeated in the GE, giving her a shot in 2012, is to push on this kind of nonsense.
