Obama's Baggage.
Wright will continue to be a thorn but with diminishing sting as the weeks and months go on.

The Rezko trial should have closing arguments in two weeks or so. Once that happens with no smoking gun pointing at Obama, it's a minor issue.

The Ayers thing was always a silly, minor issue.

As far as the rest of his toxic baggage...oh, wait. That's it. Besides the kind of noise that every politician carries, he doesn't have any more.

To paraphrase another DUer's witty analogy, when it comes to baggage, Obama has a carry on. Clinton has a U-Haul. And McCain has a private plane full of crap we haven't yet begun to delve into!

1. Agreed
I think McCain is twice as good as Bush.
Clinton is twice as good as McCain.
And Obama is almost twice as good as Clinton.

I'd take Rev. Wright over all of them, of course.

3. Agree that if Rev. Wright is all they have in that kitchen sink, then they
don't have much, and certainly not enough to cast impediments in the pathways of like-minded superdelegates this spring or general election voters next fall.

Plus, Obama is responding to the media quite well.

4. I think so too
This Wright thing is over. The media will try to continue to beat a dead horse as long as they can, but the results will be very minor. The Clinton people will yell about it too, but it's done. Lets get back to the issues that matter.

5. Don't forget, they won't hesitate to make shit up
Swiftboat Veterans for "Truth" comes to mind. When they don't have anything substantial left to throw at Obama, they'll just start making shit up.

6. yup, but they will do that to any Dem candidate. Luckily, Obama
has the money and is starting up a war room to counteract that crap (at least according to an article I read in the latest Newsweek.
