BARACK needs our support!! HAVE YOU DONATED TODAY??
Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 08:54 AM by futureliveshere
Today is the last day of the month and all the talking heads will be poring over the fund-raising numbers of April to see if Hillary Clinton has managed to reduce Obama's staggering lead in raising money. I know it has not been the greatest month for Barack Obama but the campaign is still going strong. This is the time we need to show our support for his candidacy by DONATING to the campaign.

The Obama campaign is banking on a huge month from us to show to the superdelegates that even when we hit setbacks, we still have the best fundraising operation that any presidential candidate has ever had. So lets take some time to donate today.

Here is a copy of the letter I received and I hope it moves you to open your wallets.

I really need your support today.

The April financial reporting deadline is at midnight tonight, and the media and superdelegates, whose backing we need, will be watching closely.

Your support will strengthen our efforts before Tuesday's primaries in North Carolina and Indiana, but it will also help build our movement in all 50 states as we prepare for the general election.

Senator Clinton just launched another round of false attack ads in Indiana and North Carolina, and she's determined to continue her negative campaign until we close out the primary season. In the meantime, we need to prepare ourselves to face similar tactics from Senator McCain.

Make a donation of $100 today to help us fight this two-front battle and show our strength before tonight's deadline:

https://donate.barackobama.com/promise

Thank you for the donation you made this month. I'm grateful for your support, but right now I'm asking you to consider giving again. You can encourage another supporter to donate before the end of the month by promising to match their gift.

Choose the amount you're willing to match and help grow our movement at this important time. You can even choose to write a note to the person whose gift you're matching.

Will you promise an additional gift of $100 to match a fellow supporter's donation before Wednesday's deadline?

https://donate.barackobama.com/promise

Thank you for your support,

Barack

I just donated and promised to match another donation. Will you?

edited the question.

24. No, I think he just wants to blow the number up so high that the
media conversation will switch away from Wright and onto the battles of the bucks and the superdelegates.

Already working with supers coming out of the woodwork for both Obama & Clinton. Unfortunately, this is the kind of "fight" the media likes to cover instead of real issues like the Iraq war & the economy.

that is the Obama Campaign vs. the debt pit that is the Clintons.

I say again, I wish the media covered the important issues. But at least we can help Barack win the media money game meme.

31. My reply on this which I had posted on DKos as a response to Kos' similar argument
Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 09:50 AM by futureliveshere
I have to disagree with you on this one Kos... (55+ / 0-)

Obama has already won the primary and is moving into the GE mode. He knows he has a problem attracting the working class white voter and his biggest attraction is that he can pull the independents and Republicans-on-the-edge towards him. This interview was part of his effort to reach out to them. Imagine yourself as a voter ambivalent towards Obama but quite committed to Fox News as your preferred news channel (difficult to imagine why anyone would want to see Faux, but that's neither here nor there). Now imagine if Obama had gone of Faux and started to haul them over the coals for biased, sensationalistic and wrong reporting. That would be the end of your ambivalence right there. You would never again even consider Obama again. He would have just pushed one more voter towards McCain.

Obama has hit back hard and often in this contest, he has trounced the Clintons more than once, cleared the field which was very crowded not so long back, created a money making machine for himself and the democrats and is tying up with the DNC itself. He has infact absorbed the art of doing the unexpected and letting the Clintons drown themselves in their own over aggressive efforts.

This also comes back to a social problem I see around me. We are so used to the jet age with everything happening immediately that we fail to appreciate the nuances anymore. We want quick results and instantaneous gratification and anything that doesn't fit with that model seems weak and dithering to us.

In the quest for Rambo lets not stop appreciating the Sun Tsu in our midst.

I hope you will reconsider your stance. This election is too important for us to be cherry picking our issues in this manner.

Reading your post I can safely assume that you are a liberal. Well, then I would think you would naturally lean towards Obama rather than Hillary. That's what this is about. Lets do the right thing by the only REAL liberal to stand a chance in a long, long, long time.

34. Then Obama needs to start standing up for Democrats and liberals
especially when he's on Faux News.

If Obama is for unity does that mean Democrats and liberals are not invited to his unity circle? Sure seems so after his terrible Faux News interview.

35. Aah dude. You are not even TRYING to get it.
But please, if you believe in his candidacy more than Hillary's or McCains then help him out today. We can debate our differences till the cows come home, but if everyone who is a liberal does not help him close this nomination, THEN you and I will be left with a hard - core Republican and a Democrat who is a committed centrist and swings to the hard right on some key issues like national security to choose from in November.

He's diving into the corporate pockets. Right now, he's not as deep as the Clintons, but he'll eventually get there.

Corporate America Hearts Obama

Now I know why he has no problems dissing Democrats and liberals.

I requested you repeatedly to choose between who we have right now. I am not making the case that Obama is God, the 2nd Coming or the Messiah.

He is a politician, but I feel he is a politician with his heart in the right place and is DEFINITELY more accountable to the common public as we have funded his campaign in giant amounts.

Sen. "I'm a unifier" Obama fails his own test when he goes on Faux News and denigrates Democrats and liberals.

Just because I vote for him does not mean that I will stop criticizing him. Obama doesn't pay me my salary so I can criticize all I want.
