Skelton is the last of Missouri's four Democrats in Congress to make a presidential endorsement.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver also backs Clinton. Reps. William Lacy Clay and Russ Carnahan have endorsed Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

For Obama

http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/samgrahamfelsen/gGCJlL

ES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - An aide to U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, D-Iowa, says he will announce his endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Wednesday.

Braley spokesman Jeff Giertz says Braley will endorse the Illinois senator during an afternoon conference call.

Braley was an early and ardent backer of John Edwards, but had remained uncommitted since Edwards dropped out of the race at the end of January.

Braley is a superdelegate and his endorsement will further add to Obama's fragile lead in delegates in the race against Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Giertz says Braley made his decision after seeing the overwhelming support for Obama in district conventions last weekend in his 1st District in eastern Iowa.

9. Having called the AP a couple of times I get the impression that they
don't have any specialist working on it, its just written up by the next available guy on the desk. Don't think its intentionally trying to make it closer than it is.

24. Congresswoman with long term Clinton connection endorses Obama
A California congresswoman with long ties to both Clintons will announce her endorsement of Barack Obama today, a campaign source said.

Rep. Lois Capps, who represents a district on California’s central coast, is the third member of Congress to announce an endorsement of Senator Obama Wednesday, the day after he responded sharply to one of the deepest crises of his campaign, a confrontational and, he said, “appalling” set of remarks by his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The campaign is using the flurry of endorsements to shore up political support and demonstrate the frontrunner’s continuing strength.

“Barack Obama is the better choice because of something larger and perhaps more important. Simply put, he has made a call to the better angels of our nature. He is challenging us to lift ourselves out of the ugliness that increasingly consumes Washington, where the heat of your argument counts for more than the light it should bring,” Capps said in a statement. “He is asking us to stand together as Americans and transcend the traditional lines that have so often divided us by party affiliation, economic status, gender, or race.”

In her statement, Capps praised Clinton, but also suggested she’d been pushed to Obama by negative aspects of the campaign.

“I came to Washington 10 years ago after winning the seat my husband Walter held. In office for a mere 10 months before he died, he had lost none of the idealism and faith in American democracy that propelled his life. Quite frankly, I don’t believe he ever would have and I know that I have tried to keep that fire burning. But I’ll admit it’s hard, when so much of what’s going on around you is less about meeting our country’s challenges and more about demonizing your political opponents,” she said in the statement.

“Walter once said that ‘we are strongest as people when we are directed by that which unites us, rather than giving into the fears, suspicions, innuendos and paranoias that divide.’ For years I have been waiting for a President that speaks to that vision. I believe Barack Obama may very well be that rare leader.”

Capps has long been close to both Clintons, who supported and raised money for her late husband, Rep. Walter Capps, and then for her in a campaign for what was then a contested seat.

19. I'm hoping more SD's will come out for Obama before the primary
I know Evan Bayh tried to intimidated the SD's last week, but since he is Hillary's sidekick and is ALWAYS on the campaign trail with her, I see no reason SD's can't endorse Obama.

Thanks as always grantcart

26. Indiana Congressman Baron Hill endorsed Barack Obama
Indianapolis, IN — Indiana Congressman Baron Hill endorsed Barack Obama for President today, citing his strength of character and ability to change the tone of Washington:
"Some have advised me to be cautious, to wait and see which way the electoral winds may blow. I confess that I have listened to those voices and been tempted by their reasoning. But, the stakes are just too high. We cannot continue to pursue the same politics of personal destruction we have engaged in for a generation, some never-ending “groundhog day” endlessly playing out the cultural wars of forty years ago.

If we are going to develop real solutions for Hoosier families, for America’s families, we have to move past the partisan gridlock. I believe both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama want to do that and I believe both are formidable candidates. But, I also believe that only one of them truly can.

I am proud of Senator Obama’s call for change in Washington – change I have been advocating since I first sought public office. I am truly hopeful that his campaign and election will help unify our nation and ultimately change our politics. I am pleased that Senator Obama clearly and unequivocally denounced Reverend Wright’s remarks. Hoosiers don’t feel that way about our country, I don’t feel that way about our country and Senator Obama made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t feel that way either.

29. DNC Cabanas (PR) endorses Clinton
The Clinton campaign said Luisette Cabanas, vice chair of the Democratic Committee in Puerto Rico, came on board while the candidate's daughter Chelsea was campaigning on the island. Cabanas cited Clinton's policies, especially health care, as "the best by far of any candidate in history."

"Today I endorse Hillary Clinton for president because of her strong win in Pennsylvania," Cabanas said in a statement. "She has shown a firm conviction and the character needed to lead the nation."
