Where is Oprah? Anyone Anyone??? Why has she dropped out on Obama???
After this article and comments were made in Jan. I have heard very little from Oprah and I would like to see her get out the vote for Obama in Indiana! Anyone know more?

Women turn on ‘traitor’ Oprah Winfrey for backing Barack Obama

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article3216586.ece

Oprah fans leave a barrage of negative messages on her official website in response to the talk show host's support of Obama.Winfrey’s website, Oprah.com, has been flooded with a barrage of abuse since the queen of daytime chat shows joined Obama on a tour of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina in mid-December

........

Come on Oprah! Get out there and show your support!!!!

34. where in the article does it say she had a fav rating of 86%?
The highest I see is 78 percent and that was in 1996 nad it dropped to 73 percent by 2003, long before she was talking about obama.

I don't dispute that her favorability is down. Not surprising. If she had gotten involved in the campaign on behalf of Hillary, it also would've dropped, I'm willing to bet.

As for ratings, I'd have to see a year to year comparison, since ratings fluctuate from week to week based on seasonal factors, reruns etc.

behind the scenes. I was actually at her website last week and got in a tiff with a few right wingers.:eyes: It was exhausting--and I thought GD-P was tiring.

I don't think she's worried about her viewership, but I bet she wants Obama to set the course himself without her being too much out front.

6. Nope..she is not worried about the ratings. She kinda has a lot
going on right now. She has two tv shows,a magazine, her own television channel, her own radio channels, her schools in South Africa, etc. She can't do everything. I think she has made it clear that she supports Barack 100%. She can't make people vote for Barack. All she can offer him is the forum to convince them on his own. NEver know she might have him on her show again......

11. John Edwards on Hillary & her (filthy, disgusting) campaign:
Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 12:47 PM by redqueen
"The Clinton campaign has no conscience," Edwards said, after Clinton spokesman Jay Carson said Edwards does no more than "read articles about people who need help and talk about them."

"The idea that everything is about them (suggests) that they have no conscience," Edwards said of the Clinton campaign, my colleague Josh Kraushaar reports. "I'm very surprised by the comments."

"I didn't hear these kinds of attacks from Senator Clinton when she was ahead," Edwards said. "Every time he speaks out for change, every time I fight for change, the forces of status quo are going to attack -- every single time."

"I think that voters have to ask themselves is: do you believe that the candidate who's raised the most money from Washington lobbyists, Democrat or Republican, the candidate who's raised the most money from the health industry, drug companies, health insurance companies, the candidate who's raised the most money from the defence industry, Republican or Democrat - and the answer to all of those questions is: that's Senator Clinton. Will she be the person who brings about the change in this country? You know, I believe in Santa Claus. I believe in the tooth fairy. But I don't think that's going to happen. I really don't. I think that if people want the status quo, Senator Clinton is your candidate."

Want to insult me some more? C'mon... show us what a smart guy you are.

Mostly Obama.

I'm impressed that you at least didn't resort to childish insults... this time, anyway. (Or, I don't know... is your assertion that I have a programmed mind an insult? Yeah... I think I've little reason to be impressed, actually.)

Regarding context... that's three times he said in no uncertain terms what he thought of her as a candidate or what he thought of her campaign. Would you like to provide the information that indicates I've taken these quotes OUT of context? Please?

:hi:

As for whom Elizabeth supports... she's been very careful to say she supports Hillary's HEALTH CARE plan.

Not quite the same as Carter's understated (but obvious) support for Obama, is it? :)

And that she's thrown activists under the bus as well?

They're pretty similar, the two candidates.

One thing they haven't both done is lie horribly. Also, they are viewed differently by the public... one vastly more negatively, and also as more untrustworthy. Guess which one?

55. Maybe this...."An Open Letter to Oprah"
JERUSALEM – Sen. Barack Obama's Chicago church published an open letter from a Palestinian activist that labels Israel an "apartheid" regime and claims the Jewish state worked on an "ethnic bomb" that kills "blacks and Arabs."

The letter, discovered by the blog Sweetness & Light, was published on the "Pastor's Page" of the Trinity United Church of Christ newsletter reserved for Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., whose anti-American, anti-Israel remarks prompted the presidential candidate to deliver a major race speech last week.

"I must tell you that Israel was the closest ally to the white supremacists of South Africa," wrote the letter's author, Ali Baghdadi. "In fact, South Africa allowed Israel to test its nuclear weapons in the ocean off South Africa. The Israelis were given a blank check: they could test whenever they desired and did not even have to ask permission. Both worked on an ethnic bomb that kills Blacks and Arabs."
