I saw him interviewed tonight. When finally pressed, he admitted that Kerry would be better than Bush. It gave me some sort of hope.
I don't see what he hopes to accomplish. With limited ballot access, there's no way he gets his targeted 5 % nationally.

5. Other: Why are Dems so fscking obsessed with a political asterisk? |
|
I mean, seriously, :wtf:
The more Democrats sit and stew about "the Nader factor" instead of address the issues he raises (corporate power, US imperialism, so-called "free trade", etc.), the stronger he gets.
You want to make Nader a non-factor? Contact the Kerry/Edwards campaign. Tell them that Kerry needs to take a stronger stand against corporate corruption, against corporate-controlled trade, against imperialism, and for human rights, peace and justice for EVERYONE.
Instead of whining and whinging about his 5% in the polls, convince prospective Nader voters to vote DEMOCRATIC, because only the Democrats truly have a chance of changing things after November 2. That will do much more to get their support than bashing their candidate and trivializing their issues.

its Nader himself that I, and many others have issue with. Is he physically fit, number one... I mean not to be cruel, but his eye droops from a stroke, and he looks about 3 seconds from the grave. He has Bush/Cheney campaign offices making calls to voters. He wants to put an end to the corporate whores of America, yet he continues on with the full knowledge he is helping Bush to get elected. How can anyone in good conscience do that? We are talking about a man that comes from a long line of war profiteering and just pure evil.

7. This * could throw key electoral states to Bush--Obsessed, Yes |
|
I agree with you that the Democrats need to appeal to likely Nader voters.
I don't agree with you that Nader's an asterisk. Sure, he's not going to get on the ballot in alot of states but, if he gets on in enough key swing states, he could shift the balance given our wacky electorial college system.
I for one don't want to see this happen.
Dirty tricks against Nader no, outreach and honest politiking and making sure that Nader plays by the rules, yes.
