Wright built a church from almost nothing to the megachurch it is today. He did this with the help of his congregation. He, since he built his own pulpit, can say anything he pleases and can choose his own sermon material. Certainly anyone attending his church would agree with most of the topics he chose to speak about--thinking of them as 'food for thought.' Anyone who disagreed with his lines of reason would certainly not stay in that church for very long. When it comes to churches, there are infinite varieties of them out there.

Along comes this guy called Obama. Smart, Harvard Law educated, likes this particular church and joins it. Has his two daughters baptized there by Wright. A long friendship develops between the two men. Obama makes Wright his 'spiritual' counselor.

Now, Obama claims that he didn't hear all the sermons that Wright preached. Probably true if the definition of 'all' is the same as the definition of 'is.'

But, if we can conclude that Obama and his family attended this church for...ummmm...45 Sundays a year, then he heard some 900 sermons as preached by Wright.

This foofraw is not of Wright's doing. It is Obama's. Again, when the matter under consideration reaches the controversial proportions, Obama throws this old friend out of the boat to sink or swim on his own. A 20 year friendship destroyed. Such loyalty on Obama's part.

None of this reflects badly on Wright who is only guilty of what most preachers are guilty of. They tend to get wild when they get going. The congregation is comprised of people who have faced oppression all their lives. Small wonder that they like this clergyman who, indeed, speaks for them. Who has provided a place where they can recharge their batteries, get tutoring/teaching help when needed, food bank for the hungry and probably a score of many other opportunities.

Wright is not the problem--the problem is Obama who cannot see the trees for the forest he has dreamed up.

Thats your basic review of the word 'us'. you *actually* have it backwards:
