Can we have a nice, cheerful, no-snark thread this evening? |
|
I'm a little down because of some personal matters. (Yup - See my sleeve? There's my heart.) I'd love to reflect for a while on a post-Bush America, as I watch the grounds outside green with springtime.
I happen to live in Colorado where renewable energy is a boon for our windy, sunny state along the Rocky Mountains. I imagine an entire industry thriving because of increased tax incentives and government investment in the research into, and production of, renewable energy sources.
That cheers me up.
Anyone else have others?

1. I look forward to not having to have... |

...the remote control at the ready in order to mute the neoconcrazyguys as they flash across the teevee screen.
I like your vision - I live in NJ - we don't have the expanse or scenic views of CO so that kind of vision is not popping into my mind.

Jersey City, then in Morris County.
From what I recall, it breaks down like this:
West of the Turnpike: vision.
East of the Turnpike: not so much.

kids on that converted a car (for a cost of $3000) to be run on electric. They said if they could do it the car companies could do it. Doesn't that give you hope for a new green world and the future of our country? It did me. Hope you're feeling better.

It does give me hope for a greener world.
I think this is an issue that has transcended political disagreement. It's an issue that effects all of us.

3. I saw a rainbow yesterday against the snowy backdrop of the Cascade Mountains... |
|
It was beautiful; I always think a rainbow is a portent of something good about to happen.

Although it doesn't rain as often up here. ;)

10. I've got a few non-snark things that are making me happy: |
|
My team, the Dbacks, have the best record in baseball at 20-8! :)
I saw two parrots in my backyard yesterday. That was pretty cool.
The swimming pool is almost warm enough to take the first swim of the season.
Oh! And chocolate still tastes pretty darn good.

12. Oooooh. I had the most divine dessert on Monday. |
|
It was our anniversary so we went to the local fancy restaurant.
They serve raviolis filled with hot chocolate granache. When you bite into the ravioli, an explosion of chocolate fills your mouth.
It was almost BTS.
You have parrots in your backyard? Where do you live?

Congrats to you and yours!! OMG! That dessert sounds awesome!
I live in AZ and we can't figure out where the parrots came from. There is a possibility they're wild but we're thinking they either escaped from their cages or someone let them loose. In any case, it is just amazing to see them with their beautiful green and red feathers. Beautiful!

To make this relevant to GD: P - I am glad our remaining two candidates haven't given up despite how exhausted and sick of BS they must both be by now. Either is far superior to McCain.
And thanks for a cheerful thread.
