Florida's Hillary supporters protest at DNC, pretend they are not Hillary supporters.
Hillary Clinton's campaign has been planning rallies across our state, and today they went to DC. Everyone knows it is her campaign doing it, yet they wore shirts with names of other candidates. They said they were not supposed to talk about why.

First we do know it is Hillary's Florida folks doing the rallies.

Hillary rallies across FL against DNC.... surrogates building anger on purpose toward DNC

Rallies are planned Saturday in seven Florida cities, including Miami and Fort Lauderdale, to demand that the national party count Florida's delegates. Hundreds of activists are also expected to ride buses to Washington to rally Wednesday.

"This has to do with our civil rights,'' said Millie Herrera, a potential Clinton convention delegate and the president of the Hispanic Democratic Caucus of Florida. ``No one has the right to invalidate our votes."

More proof it is Hillary's Florida people doing the rallies.

Huff Post: Bus loads, mostly backers of Hillary Clinton head for DC

Buoyed by the results in Pennsylvania, bus loads of Floridians -- mostly backers of Sen. Hillary Clinton -- will head to Washington for an April 30th rally before the Democratic National Committee's headquarters. The group is looking to confront party leaders and argue that the Sunshine State's disqualified January primary results should be counted. They are asking that all 2ll Florida delegates be seated at the August convention in Denver, a decision that would help in the delegate-numbers-game for the New York senator.

The most appalling thing is they pretended to be what they were not....supporters of other candidates. They did not wear Hillary shirts, only one person did. Someone committed a gaffe and outed them.

First Read: Angry Floridians

From NBC's Mike Viqueira
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A small but very fired up group of Floridians rallied in the street outside the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters here today, demanding that their primary votes be counted and threatening to literally block the doors of the Democratic Convention if they aren't.

"We will shut down the convention!" exclaimed Rep. Corrine Brown. "If we are not seated, then nobody is going to be seated!"

Brown, a superdelegate pledged to Clinton
, addressed a crowd of about 150 who had been bused up to D.C. from Florida this week under the auspices of LULAC, an Hispanic advocacy group. Though Brown and another super who spoke -- Rep. Hilda Solis -- are in the Clinton camp, organizers went out of their way to remove any hint that they favored one or the other Democrat in the race. Many in the crowd wore T-shirts with the name of each Democratic candidate, from Kucinich to Dodd to Richardson to Obama, printed across the back in the shape of a rainbow. There was but one Hillary '08 shirt or button to be seen.

"We're not supposed to talk about that," confided Harriet Meltzer, 83, a member in good standing of the Del Ray Democratic Club, though she allowed that she was, in fact, a Clinton supporter.
"What's he going to do when he goes to the Middle East?" she asked of Obama, who she deems to be lacking in experience. "Charm them?"

Once again they used the tactic of taunting Howard Dean. They do it at every rally. It is tasteless.

...."Protesters eventually turned their ire on Howard Dean, literally calling him out with taunting chants of, "Be a man, Howard!" and "Where is Howard!?"

Notice once again Debbie Wasserman Schultz escapes scrutiny. No one in the article mentioned that she was the main speaker....and is co-chair of Hillary's campaign.

Protest at the DNC

There is video at the link. Wasserman Schultz is angry.

WASHINGTON -- About 250 Floridians – most of them Latino – who are upset with the stalemate over the state’s presidential delegates demonstrated outside of Democratic National Committee headquarters Wednesday.

Peacefully chanting “Florida Must Count!’ and “Count Our Votes!” while carrying placards and miniature Florida flags, many of the demonstrators acknowledged they were backers of Hillary Clinton.

But organizers depicted the event as aimed at a larger issue, and that it was not intended to boost Clinton.

But again someone gives them away...they are for Hillary, that is why they are there. Someone has really organized the Latinos to go to DC.

Standing in the crowd, Fred Araque, 66, a truck driver from Spring Hill, Fla., pointed to his wife Adela, 65, and said, “She is for Hillary, and I am for Hillary."

“I think most of the people here are for Hillary,” said Araque.

That should not be surprising. Clinton, who trails Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential delegate tally, has been saying her victory in Florida’s Jan. 29 primary should count for some delegates.

Here it comes...Debbie WS finally gets mentioned as Hillary's co-chair.

At the rally Wednesday, among those selected to speak behind a podium set at the entrance of DNC headquarters included Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston, Fla., a national Clinton campaign co-chairwoman, and Kim Gandy, the National Organization for Women president who has endorsed Clinton.

Speaking to the crowd, Wasserman Schultz suggested that disregarding the Jan. 29 primary ballot choices of 1.7 million Florida Democratic primary voters could alienate these voters in a key presidential swing-state.

“We can’t begin this general election with one hand tied behind our back,” Wasserman Schultz said.

Dean was not there, but the DNC had a sign up which is visible in the video at the link. It reminded the people from Florida that their threats to vote for McCain would mean 4 more years of Bush.

DNC chairman Howard Dean was in Connecticut, and did not address the crowd.

During the rally, DNC officials passed out bottles of water. They also handed out fliers reminding the protestors that Dean had stood alongside Florida members of Congress on the same steps outside DNC headquarters in early April to say he is committed to seating a Florida delegation. The DNC even sought to make lemonade, at least for a day, out of the sour taste the party’s action has left in the mouth of many Floridians.

Even before the Florida protestors had arrived at DNC headquarters, national party staffers put up a banner over the headquarter entrance, sure to be visible in any TV coverage of the event.

It read: “John McCain = 3rd Bush Term.”

If you are going to have rallies to support your candidate, then be who you are. Do not use the deceptive tactics of the Republicans. Don't pretend to be something you are not.

43. KO outed this group as Hillary supporters
This reminds me of the faux protesters from recount 2000 who ended up being outed as Republicans. Oh Hillary and FL supporters why are you using the same tactics used to intimidate Bush into office?

I do not think this tactic will get very far. Been there done that.

74. Here is the pic you're referring to...

This angry mob, which successfully stopped the recount in Miami-Dade County during the 2000 election standoff, was portrayed by the media as an uprising by Florida voters.

Here are the identities of the protesters:

1. Tom Pyle, policy analyst, office of House Majority Whip Tom DeLay (R-Tex.).
2. Garry Malphrus, majority chief counsel and staff director, House Judiciary subcommittee on criminal justice.
3. Rory Cooper, political division staff member at the National Republican Congressional Committee.
4. Kevin Smith, former House Republican conference analyst and more recently of Voter.com.
5. Steven Brophy, former aide to Sen. Fred D. Thompson (R-Tenn.), now working at the consulting firm KPMG.
6. Matt Schlapp, former chief of staff for Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.), now on the Bush campaign staff in Austin.
7. Roger Morse, aide to Rep. Van Hilleary (R-Tenn.).
8. Duane Gibson, aide to Chairman Don Young (R-Alaska) of the House Resources Committee.
9. Chuck Royal, legislative assistant to Rep. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).
10. Layna McConkey, former legislative assistant to former Rep. Jim Ross Lightfoot (R-Iowa) now at Steelman Health Strategies.

Somebody could do a similar graphic for all these Florida protesters - They seem to be Clinton delegates, insiders and astroturfers.

I am not sure thats a concept that is acknowledged as existing at all.

I mean.. all but one opponent has dropped out, and Senator Clintons numbers have moved how much?

Its not about increasing the support. It's about the support that wasn't contested counted in too.

From what I hear 99% of the delegates elected to uncommitted slots are hard core Obama supporters. Anyone who thinks these delegates will willlingly vote for anyone else is in for a big surprise.

In my own Congressional Dist. there were 2 uncommitted slots. Two people who have worked Michigan for Obama tirelessly for well over a year got elected. I was really, really happy for them.

39. Hmm this sounds familiar. Anyone remember the Miami Rent-A-Mob?

http://archive.salon.com/politics/feature/2000/11/28/miami/

Nov. 28, 2000 | MIAMI -- On the surface, it looked like the good people of Miami at their worst again. Last week's melee at the county offices here -- followed by the local canvassing board's abrupt cancellation of a hand recount -- had all the trademarks of Miami's notorious tantrum politics. Screaming, shoving, fist-waving, intimidation, ties to Elian Gonzalez and even hints of good ol' Cuban-American political corruption.

But the fact is that the fracas at Miami's recount headquarters was engineered and carried out by Republican Party operatives imported from the heartland, far from South Florida. They might have reminded viewers of Elians Army -- and might even have taken lessons from the Cubans -- but, by all accounts, the city's strident conservative exile community was very much in the minority. As one observer put it: "There were no guayaberas. This crowd looked tweedy. They were from out of town."

"The eight-city, one-day rally and petition drive took place a day after Democratic National Committee leaders announced they would consider reversing their decision to strip Florida and Michigan of their convention delegates." (NO, the DNC did NOT say that...they said will meet and discuss it.)

"In downtown West Palm Beach, about 25 people attended a news conference Saturday morning where elected Democratic leaders urged the DNC to let Florida's Democratic votes count."

Did I read that right?

52. Wasserman Schultz's role in putting Hillary above her state and her party....
should be considered if she is truly being groomed for the chair of the DCCC.

Roll Call says Debbie Wasserman Schultz might be next chairman of the DCCC. I have concerns.

She won't campaign against GOP candidates here, and she constantly attacks the DNC in her role as chair of Hillary's campaign.

53. I wonder if any of those protesters will turn out to be...
the same thugs that were Republicans back in 2000 who formed a shouting mob in Florida during the Bush vs. Gore vote count?

Don't be surprised if a few familiar faces turn up...

54. Great, like there's not enough devious MALE assholes in the world
we need to add Ladies to the mix, tho these don't sound like Ladies to me..

What I hate the Most about this Clinton and her subtrefuge, her lying, and all is that she's setting back women's Liberation a 100 years..

Men depend on women to have their heads screwed on tight, in some ways we really are the weaker sex, and now she's a training ground for women that want to get even.. There's a real veiled anti-male sexism she's got some women into, and its disrespectful to everyone..

Go home and kick your useless husbands ass out for cheating on you Hillary, and I might start to believe you have some scruples.

Oh, the reason they didn't wear the Hillary shirts us because they knew if they did, No One Would Listen to Them.. :)

We still have ours. Hubby still wears his very warm heavy sweatshirt in royal blue with gold lettering. It is like new.

66. No wonder Hillary is a deadbeat
Imagine how much she had to pay Karl Rove for the rights to his "Election Playbook." That must be why she is stiffing small business owners, while she poses at the gas station filling up a gas guzzler and wondering why prices are so high.
