Isn't it funny....
...that the same Obama supporters who say that the Wright/Obama story is a "dead horse" keep bringing up Monica Lewinski, Vince Foster, Gennifer Flowers, blow jobs, cigars, and blue dresses every chance they get?

I find that funny. I mean really "ha ha" funny! Like "is this the best you can do" funny.

:D

24. I don't know, Maddie...
I think Tuzla is kind of funny in a train wreck sort of way...

I like the Goddess of Peace talking about massive retaliation against Iran, again, funny as hell.

Her lack of control with her checkbook is laughable.

And her pander bear embrace of the 'Vast right wing conspiracy' with Schaiff (sp) and even tonight, O'reilly is pretty telling and laughable in a desperate for a date to the prom way....

There's plenty to laugh about....

Your chronic and endless sniping positive Obama posts is pretty funny, too.

I wonder what will happen when Her Majesty steps down.

33. yeah that Tuzla story has been covered in the news for over a month -- or NOT!
and it keeps evolving with a new chapter every week, oh, that is the Obama/Wright story again.

Darn, guess your guy has the better story. Enjoy the free press coverage!

36. I do, actually - enjoy the wright story -
AS I said in another post last night - the endless maw of the 24 hour news cycle needs fresh fuel - wright will be a story of diminishing returns pretty soon - and they are going to need something to burn Hillary with - if you've been paying attention they have been trading scandals all along...

They'll go back to Tuzla real soon now...or worse...

Ya better hope they don't start talking about where that 109 million really came from.....Colombia...China...

Or make her clarify the Iran comments.....

The closer to the convention they nail her on this stuff, the more likely she steps down and avoid the bloodletting she and bill seem to want.....and that makes me very happy indeed.

4. Let me, as an Obama supporter, say that I'm as sick of
Rev. Wright as I am of the Clinton's scandals. With everything that gets shoved down my throat, I eventually get sick of and am happy to move on. This goes for any overhyped movie, sports team, or any number of media fads that come and go throughout our lives.

Eventually some of us are going to crack and bring up some of her shit. You guys expect to be able to pound on us and for us to just take it. But that's what bullies do I guess.

8. Are you saying that shoe is pinching you on the other foot?
You can go for revenge, or you can take this as an object lesson.

It's harder to be civil, sometimes.

Go back in the archives, put that shoe on the other foot, and see how well the few remaining Clinton supporters on this board liked the cruel bullying, the Hitlery-Hillaryous-Cankles crap. Not too well, did they? That's why there aren't many left here. They've moved on to more hospitable and productive discussion boards.

That saying about what goes around coming around applies, here. It's an argument for more civility, certainly.

17. So, you're saying that anything that Obama does...
that's worthy of criticism will be met with "MONICA!" "CIGAR!"

Do you know how foolish those posts are? It only demonstrates that the topic at hand is obviously something you can't discuss, so you just spew decade-old scandals.

I agree with you that Obama supporters shouldnt use RW talking points against Hillary- I just wish you also agreed with me that DEMS shouldnt be using GOP invented Willie Horton style tactics & RW talking points on Obama.

The good news is that Obama is not out in the media talking about Monica. I wish Hillary would return the favor and not talk about Wright or Farrakkan.

6. I think this whole business tells us what a tool Axlerod is, and what a fool Obama has been for
not taking Wright off the table by leaving his church a few years ago. Hubris, or naivete?

And yes, bringing up Clinton's HUSBAND's foolishness is as dumb as talking about something from the Obama family's life that has been asked and answered. Like, oh, say, blaming Obama because Obama's mother entered into a bigamous relationship with a man who had a wife back home, or something.

You don't "control" your relatives. Unless your name is Saddam.

10. It's unfortunate that his naivete is the result of an attempt at political courage
I'm sure that he knew that Wright must have been a political liability, but he must have chosen to stick with his church and his pastor and roll the dice. The alternative is when he decided to run for national office, he could have left the church and taken a smaller hit for letting politics affect his church life.

12. I thought he should have bought a different house, further away.
And NEAR an old-school, liturgical, predominantly black church with a great Sunday school and a good daycare. Walking distance near, if possible.

That way, he could have slid out of the Wright mess by saying, "Hey, it's right up the street, the kids love the Sunday school...nothing against you, but it's unreasonable to commute an hour to church...we'll 'visit' you every so often."

Of course, Wright may have blown up then--after all, Obama was worth tens of thousands to him, in tithes. But then, it would be over and history by now.

26. I'm not arguing that it would have been the prudent thing to do
obviously I think that Obama would be better off having distanced himself earlier. But mostly I think it's unfortunate that we even have to go down that road. It's not enough to say something like "Yes Wright has said somethings I've disagreed with strongly when I was in church on Sunday. Like most other people who attend TUCC, I came here to pray and to become closer with God. And having been a member for so long, and seeing the great majority of his sermons, I know that the good he says far outweighs the bad. So yes, I am willing roll my eyes at these comments and then go back the next Sunday, because I know that it will be better."

But clearly I've been on the wrong side of nearly every issue regarding identity politics in the last decade, so there's no reason that I should have any validity on this one either.

No blow job = President Al Gore 2000 through 2008.

There is a good chance that the 8 years of the chimp and his thugs denial and wasting time on global warming has pushed the Earth past the tipping point, at least for us Humans.

BTW, I'm totally down (heh!) with blow jobs, but there is a time and a place for everything.:smoke:

But the reason they're bringing up Clinton and his blowjobs is to satirize people like you who are obsessed with Wright.

15. Who? Let's name some names...unless you're just pulling the same ol' Rovian trick.
You state a reason for such and such......but in fact, the premise to begin with is fake....so there CAN BE NO reason for such and such...since such and such does not exist.

I have not seen any posters bringing up Lewinski and also saying that the Wright matter is a dead horse.

So ..... maybe you'd care to name the posters who have done that? Number the list of names, so we can keep track (since it sounds by your post like there are a whole heck of a lot of 'em).
