Poll question: How confident are you that Kerry/Edwards will win in November?
This is just one of those 'gut check' questions. There is no right or wrong answer.

:)

1. I am 90% confident. That went up from 75% before Edwards was picked.

4. Excluding voting machines
I'm very confident. But with the voting machines, who knows?

5. I give him
slightly better than even odds...

he gets a small bounce from the convention, a point or two.

Bush gets a small bounce from his convention and 9/11 brings it back to a near tie.

The debates will do it...if Kerry wins the debates, he wins, if he loses, he loses...

of course, the real kicker is all of this is moot if something big happens in Iraq.

9. Long Shot
We should be getting more of a bounce than we are, between Edwards and F/911.

Then there is Diebold.

and the Republican control of the media, which has been turning most
newscasts into unpaid Bush* commercials.

and Diebold.

and the BFEE's lock on Florida, where thousands of Democrats are still
wrongfully disenfranchised as a result of the 2000 voter purge.

and Diebold.

and the military vote which is being counted by Andersen Consulting^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H Accenture

and Diebold.

and the long August during which Bush* will be saturating the airwaves with ads,
while Kerry has to save his money for the home stretch.

and Diebold

and the administrations ability to manipulate "terror" alerts to bury any news that might help the Democrats.

and did I mention Diebold?

We have to stop them from using DRE (Diebold Republican Electing)
voting machines in this election, or we have no chance of winning.

7. 60-40...Kerry--bush
More confident than not.......BUT ANYTHING could happen between now and then, knowing these creeps in office now. I'm happy, but cautious.

I believe what Kerry says when he urges us to NOT let down our efforts just because we're all giggly about the team at this moment. We have a way to go and must fight like wild cats to keep our candidates flying high and smooth. Urge other's to register to vote. Use bumper stickers on your vehicles, put lawn Posters up, wear buttons, wear t-shirts, talk to your neighbors, strike up conversations everywhere you go, donate a few bucks. Do any and everything you can to keep Kerry's name and platform out there.

Don't let down your guard peeps; this is a Battle for the White House in no uncertain terms. This is where the gloves come off............GO JOHN/JOHN

16. I thought Kerry and Edwards looked good on 60 Minutes
Can you be more specific? I was at the nursing home and they had the TV on so I didn't get to hear much of what they said, but the four of them looked great.

11. All things equal, 60-40 Kerry, but
Factors in Bush's favor range from a terrorist attack to good news in Iraq to excellent news on the economy, all of which are possible.

Factors in Kerry's favor include bad news, which is unfortunate but that is the reality.

Honestly, I think it is to our advantage if Bush postpones the election. Why? Because following an attack, Bush's support will be astronomical and it makes him look bad in a Constitutional sense if he postpones the election. If, by some chance, Bush gets the blame, then moving the election back looks like a political move, making him look bad. Either way, I think he loses support from all those who are already horrified at the Patriot act and are holding their nose as they cast a vote for Bush.

14. I'm at least 90% sure
that Kerry/Edwards is going to win this thing. There's too many things going against Bush for it not to happen. But whether they will actually take office or not because of another cheat to get around that is another subject entirely.

15. High degree of confidence-- 90%+
This is not because Kerry is such a strong candidate but because many people that voted for Bush in 2000 are now tired of all the lies and the sleaze of Bush/Cheney, Halliburton, and the quagmire in Iraq.

Bush's wounds are self-inflicted. Let him bleed to death!

The only concerns I have are about the Diebold voting machines being rigged, and some Red Alert being called to disrupt the election (and miscount the votes).

Now, how about prosecuting Cheney for the Valerie Plame leak?

17. 50.1%
My friends and co-workers split about 50/50 between center-left and center-right. To date, there's only one major party waverer from last election's result: one guy who voted for Bush has had enough of his deficits and is thinking about a one-time-only switch to Kerry to get rid of Bush. Everybody else is going to do exactly what he or she did last time.

On the positive side, my Dad, who voted for both Dole and Dubya, has told me he wants to get rid of Bush, and he's a mod-right bellweather who has never backed a Dem who lost (JFK, LBJ, Carter 76, Clinton 92).

On another positive note, I know one Libertarian who has expressed some thoughts of going for Kerry rather than Russo. In previous elections, the Libertarians have tended to shed votes largely to the GOP in battleground states, but Bush has so alienated fiscal conservatives that this may not happen this time.

19. Ditto
And BushCo is obviously running very scared. I love how the media is starting to report that Bush ads are much more Anti-Kerry than they are Pro-Bush.

20. Low expectations = Boon for Bush
Just the fact that jobs were CREATED instead of DESTROYED this month, despite the fact that the job creation is actually underwhelming Wall Street predictions, has buoyed Bush. This just shows how little people are expecting and demanding from their own president. Kerry sums it up grandly when he says that the Republicans are pessimists because they are content with the meagre accomplishments they have achieved.

21. Remember 6 months ago? A year?
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 10:55 PM by Lauren2882
I remember when these polls were showing very different results, and the expressed sentiment around here was very worried. The summer of 2003 when it seemed like the only people reporting on WMD lies were doing so on the Internet, the Christmas capture of Saddam, various bogus "stunning economic growth" reports... I'm so relieved the tide has turned.

That said, anything *can* happened, but I checked 90%+ :)
