Tom Joyner getting on board for unity ticket? |
|
Tom put the idea out there today. He said he must weigh his desire to see Republicans out of the White House against his desire to see the first black President. He said a ticket of Clinton/Obama could ensure 16 years of Democratic control of the White House.
He polled his viewers and the results were 54% would vote for such a ticket, over 20% would not, and another 24% were angry he even brought it up.

3. Maybe. Let's see how the rest of the primaries go. |
|
But I am starting to think a Clinton/Obama ticket is a good idea, but only if she agrees to give him a substantial role in the administration and not to run again in 4 years if they lose. Given the fact that he has more delegates, I think those demands are more than reasonable.

would get even more support and could win in November. I'm not sure with Clinton anywhere on the ticket we can win. To see what you can do to let super delegates know we want Gore at the top of the ticket go to www.thealgoresolution.com. Brand new web site encouraging just this idea.

12. FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME: NEVER. |
|
Never in a million years. Never will Barack, who is WINNING, take the VP role. If she wants to beg for the VP slot, be my guest, but the answer to that will still be "NO" too.
Hillary supporters are DESPERATE. Stop trying to ride the coat tails of our WINNING candidate - we don't want her.

such nonsense. Totally ridiculous. I won't even go for Obama/Clinton. I'm sure that Obama will be able to find the right person to balance the ticket. He doesn't need Hillary.

Everyday there is a new post on DU desperately trying to get a Clinton/Obama ticket and EVERYDAY we respond with "NO FUCKING WAY". I'm not sure how many different ways it can be said before you guys get the picture.
It doesn't matter how many times you post it or who, from EITHER side, says it's a good idea. It ISN'T a good idea. Why? Because Hillary has compromised her integrity and any sense of decency during the course of the campaign. She would be Obama's cement shoes.
We don't need her. We don't want her. She needs to slither back under her rock.
Also, it's RIDICULOUS to keep suggesting the LOSING candidate should be the Nominee and the WINNING candidate should be the Veep. ARROGANT AND STUPID AND AGAINST ALL REASONABLE LOGIC. Oh... and INSULTING.
If you want someone to agree with you on this, I suggest trying Hillaryis44.com.

Obama supporters will have a very big problem with that, I applaud Tom for recognizing maybe that Hill is more of the technocrat policy wonk, more experienced to run this country. I'm pretty sure Obama will get there in four to eigth years. For me. who's on top is not relevant at this point. No repugs in the whitehouse for the next 16 years.

he would have explained that this idea was floated by Tom's CEO (Clinton supporter). And I agree with those who say Tom should have kept it to himself.
Screw the party, if Obama arrives at the convention with more PD's, pop. vote, and running even in SD's, there will be no unity ticket. Obama doesn't need Hillary, but she would definitely need him, and I hope he's a lot smarter than that.

It's stunning, really. Why in HELL would the frontrunner take second place on such a ticket.
And why in HELL would Obama even consider her for a place on the ticket. Back in January I wouldn't have minded her in second place, but now? He doesn't need her there undermining anything he tries to get done. She's nothing more than a shitstirrer.
