Odd coincidence - or are the powers that be listening to DU-ers? |
|
Note this thread dated June 25th 2004. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=557109Me: Can we get Ronald Reagan Jr. to speak at the Dem convention? I'd love it! J17: i'm not sure he would, maybe he might but only to specifically talk about stem cell research or something like that...:freak: Discuss :P

Rod Serling was here.
I prefer to think they are among us.
What do you think JK's DU name is?
How about JE's?
I think I'll start a lounge thread. Hmmm.

i knew ron reagan really wants to be an independent so i knew he would not want to speak as just another democrat. but on an issue which is very important to him he probably would do it.

7. Well, I think this is interesting. Whether or not it's about great minds |
|
thinking alike, or someone somehow connected to the campaign reading DU. ;)
I recalled our conversation right after I read the news. :hi:

8. No it is "powers to be" not "powers that be". |

Hehe. Way off topic (sorry) but "powers that be" always reminds me of that line by John Nichols in Bowling for Columbine and cracks me up because he screwed it up like that....
"Law enforcement, if you want to call them that, were here, and they were shaking in their shoes. They were scared to death...they thought this was going to be another Waco. Certain people, namely my ex-wife , said I’m a radical. I’m a wild man.... If the people find out how they’ve been ripped off, and enslaved in this country by the government, by the powers to be, they will revolt...with merciless anger."
Of course he forgot about the powers not to be and that is the question...

when she says that I'm being too political when I blame Repukes for a lot of stuff, and point out what they're doing to Clinton/Kerry/Edwards/Dean/Kucinich/etc.

18. Probably, Trippi used to lurk here during the Primaries. |
|
OR so the "rumor" went. I thought someone actually substantiated this rumor, but I couldn't find that post.
Who's to say Trippi or some staffers aren't lurking, if not even posting.
You've got to figure that on a site called DemocraticUnderground.com at least a few high level people are going to be checking it out and probably participating.
