McKinney, GA 4th Cong debate goes well for Cynthia
Cynthia McKinney kept hitting answers out of the ball park in the GPTV Georgia Public Broadcasting Debate last night. Story in the AJC by reporter Mae Gentry caught many of the good points

What the article didn't capture was Liane Levetan's poor verbal and comprehension performance. Also one of the questioners tried to get Nadine Thomas to attack Cynthia McKinney - by asking how she would be different - but Nadine just stuck to her own qualifications. Cathy Woolard went after Liane Levetan with the ethics violations. And Nadine Thomas had a tough question for Liane Levetan after Chris Vaughn stole Nadine Thomas' Tort Reform question and asked Liane the question.

None of the candidates during their time to ask another candidate a question asked Cynthia McKinney a question because they knew she would hit it out of the park.

Debate tense for 4th rivals
McKinney defends past; Woolard pushes

In one of the hotter exchanges Sunday, Woolard, former Atlanta City Council president, accused Levetan of "a disturbing pattern of apparent ethics violations," including using state Senate campaign funds to pay for a poll about running for Congress. Woolard fired back, "Ms. Levetan, that is clearly illegal. ....Woolard live outside the 4th District, which lies mostly in DeKalb County.

When Thomas challenged Levetan about her support for affordable health care, Levetan seemed uncertain how she voted on one piece of legislation.

During Sunday's debate, touted her accomplishments while in office, including co-authoring the National Forest Protection and Restoration Act with a Republican colleague. In her closing remarks, she read a note from a voter who thought McKinney had been wrong about Bush, but who now supports her.
