ABC This Week invited Clinton, McCain, AND Obama to do a town hall
Obama elected to do Meet the Press with Tim Russert, while Clinton accepted This Week's invitation

ABC's This Week invited the three candidates not just Senator Clinton. I hope this clears things up.

1. Fair Enough...
...but considering the LAST time Obama showed up for a "debate" on ABC, is it any wonder he found better things to do with his Sunday morning? Just sayin'.

4. understandable
I'm just clearing things up because people are accusing This Week of violating "equal time."

I saw a post urging people to email George Stephanopoulos that he should have Barack Obama participate in the Town Hall. First, Stephanopoulos did invite Barack; however, barack elected to appear on a fellow competitor's show.

14. and after the way ABC set him up in the last debate,
I do not blame Obama for wanting a better venue than Snuffalufagus...after all, it was Snuffy that was stovepiping questions from Sean Hannity.

Thet knew when they offered it to him........Hey I'd love to come back so you could stab a fork in my eye or why not hit me in the head with a shovel. It will be just like last time.

13. No, but they are holding a roundtable interview...
in addition This Week invited Senator Obama. He elected to to do Meet the Press. This means he did not accept This Week's invitation. How is This Week's fault if Barack Obama did not accept the invitation? Also McCain has not accepted the invitation.

12. that is not what the linked article says. You make it seem like they invited everyone and THEN Obama
Edited on Thu May-01-08 05:55 PM by jezebel
choose MTP. The article says they have NOW invited all three to appear. Pretty shitty to do when they know that Obama is already commited to MTP. ABC is trying to cover their ass because with a "town hall" they are taking flak for looking like they are giving Clinton a free hour of campaign time. Which they are.

15. actually no
the reason I'm saying that Obama declined the invitation to attend This Week's town hall is that he's doing Meet the Press, a show that's on at the same time as This Weeks.

Meet the Press is only going to have Barack Obama and not Senator Clinton. So Senator Clinton decided to go with This Week.
