Results of current polls, July 13, 2004
National:

NATIONAL POLLS :
CNN/Gallup/USA Today:
Kerry 50, Bush 45, Nader 2

IBD/TIPP: Kerry 47, Bush 43, Nader 4

Newsweek: Kerry 47, Bush 44, Nader 3

Time: Kerry 49, Bush 44

Rasmussen: 7/12: Kerry 48, Bush 44

Doing good nationally:

Latest states:

STATE POLLS :
Zogby Interactive Battleground Polls
NC: Bush 54, Kerry 39, Nader 4

NH: Bush 45, Kerry 44, Nader 4

FL: Kerry 47, Bush 44

AR: Bush 49, Kerry

A wee bit concerned about New Hampshire.

It looks like polarized nation. Except for Florida and Arkansas, Bush has a stranglehold on the south, and he does not even need to focus on these areas at all. Bush/Cheney is blanketing Florida with Attack ads on Kerry/Edwards (I get to listen to the crap, while Kerry/Edwards are relatively silent which is probably good, Let Bush rant and rave until the message becomes old, and then Kerry/Edwards can bring out freshe stuff about Bush/Cheney which will stick in the minds of the undecided).

Kerry/Edwards are starting to widen their leads in states that they already led in, like Illinois, but the leads in states like Michigan are narowing (Which I think odd, as there is no way these states will go for Bush).

2. what the hell is wrong with NH?
Kerry is from a neighboring state! I know it's always been a bit unpredictable, but come on now. 3 1/2 months before the election, Kerry should be ahead by at least 5. Nader definitely hurts here, did he get on the ballot?

6. Actuall the title on this poll was:
Poll may spell trouble in N.H. for Bush

Washington, DC, Jul. 12 (UPI) -- A poll of registered voters in New Hampshire, a state critical to George W. Bush's hopes for re-election, shows the president may be in for a tough time.

Sen. John F. Kerry leads Bush by 3 points in a head-to-head match up, 48 percent to 45 percent, inside the poll's plus or minus 4.8 percent margin of error.

When liberal independent Ralph Nader is included in the ballot test, however, Bush pulls ahead by a hair, finishing on top with 45 percent to 44 percent for Kerry, while Nader was at 4 percent.

So it doesnt look good for Bush even if he is a point ahead.

Now if Naders can be talked into dropping out, we re doing fine.
I think Nader is to Democratrs what Perot was to Republicans. He has some bug up his ass about the Democratic Party not bending towards his point of view and is intentionally harming the party for not doing everything his way.

3. Zogby interactive polls use self-selected samples, do they not?
This renders them particularly suspect. You might want to compare the state results with those from other polls.

4. Anything on Ohio?
I don't know what to think about Zogby. It's usu. not quoted or cited by other sources because of its unconventional way of polling, I think.

5. These ARE NOT the Zogby interactive numbers
The NC poll mentioned above is from CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll which is highly suspect at best

The actual Zogby interactive numbers are here

http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/info-battleground04.html

They have Kerry up by 9 in NH
Kerry up by 7 in FL
Bush up by 2 in AR

I do not know about this interactive polling.

7. Looks good.
It's going to be close until election day. It will depend on turnout -- especially in the battleground states. Let's get our engines started. We need all the volunteers we can get.
