|
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20040714/en_nm/people_goldberg_dcThey have a right to do this, of course, but we don't need to buy their products, do we?

Nestle Sweet Success tastes better, but those meal replacement drinks and stuff really aren't good for you anyway.
If you do want a meal replacement bar, buy Luna or Cliff! I was at the Planned Parenthood Dupont Circle Festival (before the March For Women) and Luna donated lots of mini bars for us to hand out!

5. Well ,fortunately Whoopie doesn't need the money |
|
And I doubt a bunch of Republicans are going to run out now and start drinking their product just for firing her, but some Democrats sure as hell will STOP buying it.

Exactly right. Slim-Fast is just overpriced, overmarketed gunk that is questionably good for us anyway. Now that they're playing right-wing politics, we all have another reason not to buy their products.

13. I won't be buying any Slimfast, but |
|
them dropping her isn't right wing, it's just business. Corporate shills are supposed to smile vacantly and push product. Any time a celeb has to have his or her little say about politics, they lose their national endorsements.
Personally, I wish every Dem supporter from Hollywood could be shot into space for the next 5 months. Every time one of these pampered brats opens its mouth, we lose another half point in the midwest.
Dumb, dumb, dumb.

14. Personally, I was a little ticked at Whoopi. |
|
She had the right to say what she said and I agree with her. I don't think she should have been fired and I think the Faux Republican outrage is the epitome of hypocrisy.
However, the point of the fundraiser was to help get Kerry and Edwards elected. It really irked me that she made such a point about not letting her remarks be pre-cleared. She decided it was more important for her to be able to make her crude (albeit funnny and true)comments than to get rid of Bush. Again the whole point of the evening was to get rid of Bush. Her remarks have been a distraction and an effective line of Republican attack.
