1. Think W will crow about John McCain's vote?
Hmm, wouldn't that backfire, as McCain is supporting W for Pres?

2. I think he'll crow more that Kerry/Edwards were no-show's ...
Makes it look like they weenied out of taking a stand in either direction.

Sigh.

3. Question. Will McCain replace Cheney as Vice President?
Not going to happen.

4. Looks like Olympia Snowe did it again, too.
I don't know anything about her other than that she seems to step out of line with the Repubs often enough to notice, but I expect she'll be played off as a terrorist enabler in the next Republican primary in Maine, since she doesn't toe the line on every single vote.

5. Not necessarily
Maine may not be as Liberal as MA, VT or CT but they are not exactly right wing. She is Moderate. I think if her votes went far right she'd probably get voted out as it would not be in sync with the people of Maine.

6. She's stepped out of lockstep before -
And the people of Maine admire her for representing the wishes of her constituents over the Cabal.

She tends to crush opponents, in primaries and elections, because of this.

I plan to send her and Sen. Collins a praising note about this vote.

Admittedly I'd rather have a Democratic senator - I miss George Mitchell - but she is what I call a palatable Republican.

7. Snowe & Voinovich, a while back, protested the size of the Bush
tax cut.

Of course, while registering his protestations, Voinovich said that he would still vote for whatever Bush came up with.

Remember, it wasn't too terribly long ago that DU was somewhat singing his praises for "taking a stand" against the size of the cut, and I was saying that Voinovich would kiss W's ass anyway.

Note that Voinovich (and Mike DeWine) - the Ohio contingent - voted in the minority to try to pass the measure.
