DRUDGE SCRUBS ALLAWI MURDER OF PRISONERS STORY
Edited on Fri Jul-16-04 11:10 PM by seventhson
Here is the story

http://www.smh.com.au/text/articles/2004/07/16/1089694568757.html

in which a highly respected journalist reports on an incident confirmed by two seperate eyewitnesses whom the journalist tracked down that the new Iraq prime minister lined up against a wall and personally executed (shot) 7 prisoners, who were blindfolded and handcuffed.

excerpt:

"Allawi shot prisoners in cold blood: witnesses
Date: July 17 2004

By Paul McGeough in Baghdad

Iyad Allawi, the new Prime Minister of Iraq, pulled a pistol and executed as many as six suspected insurgents at a Baghdad police station, just days before Washington handed control of the country to his interim government, according to two people who allege they witnessed the killings.

They say the prisoners - handcuffed and blindfolded - were lined up against a wall in a courtyard adjacent to the maximum-security cell block in which they were held at the Al-Amariyah security centre, in the city's south-western suburbs. They say Dr Allawi told onlookers the victims had each killed as many as 50 Iraqis and they "deserved worse than death".

The Prime Minister's office has denied the entirety of the witness accounts in a written statement to the Herald, saying Dr Allawi had never visited the centre and he did not carry a gun.

But the informants told the Herald that Dr Allawi shot each young man in the head as about a dozen Iraqi policemen and four Americans from the Prime Minister's personal security team watched in stunned silence.

Drudge had this story in red letters on his front page about six hours ago.

I was real excited because I first read the story hear and decided to drop it into Drudge's "tip" email line on his homepage (thinking he would never print the story)

anyway - when it did show up I gave a whoop and called the kids -- it was an intereview with the author of the piece telling how he got the story and how reliable it was as his sources were eyewitnesses.

this story should disturb the world but , moreover, it MUST be used to demonstrate that the new Iraqi puppet is a puppet of the Bushes and is no better than their old puppet Saddam who liked to execute his opponents in cold blood and in a bloodthirsty way just like this new bastard spawn of Bushzis.

I looked in the archioves at Drudge and the story is completely scrubbed there too (as far as I could tell)

SOMEBODY told Drudge to shut the f*ck up and he did

That should tell you how important this story is.

THIS COULD REALLY BE A CAMPAIGN KILLER FOR BUSH.

2. Woah
I saw it there earlier today, red letters and all (like he does with all stories he wants to REALLY pump). I can't believe it doesn't even appear in the archives anymore.

I can't think of a single other reason for him taking it down and scrubbing it other than being asked to by people in VERY high places.

5. It's funny he broke a story about ABC or someone criticizing his
accuracy and truth and "warnings" to him about the same time.

somebody got's sumthin' on him, but the international press will pick this up. It is in today's Sydney Herald.

6. This could give Bush ideas
Maybe Karl Rove will send Bush over to Baghdad to personally execute some terrorists.

He can blow them away with an RPG while screaming, "you'll never take our freedom!" In the background, an American flag would be waving, a Fox TV crew would be filming and a Mission Accomplished banner would be waving in the breeze.

8. Believe me - such thimgs may not be too far off
our planet is really tiny in many respects. these places are all within a few hours travel of us, yet we act as if they are on another galaxy

I am reading Joe Kubert's "Fax from Sarajevo" where things literally devolved into a holocaust in days and executions were everywhere among them (a true story in graphic novel form - amazing)

we are one MIHOP away from total martial law, anarchy and programs which could very easily target gays and DUers, among others.

summary execution and torture are theri favorite sports, these necrophiles.

9. How about a new reality TV series?
It would have to be on Fox, of course.

Survivor: Iraq Edition
Ten lucky Iraqis are picked off the street at random and brought to Abu Ghraib. They must endure the harrowing adventures of the butt pyramid, family sodomy hour and learning to pick the feces out of their food. Periodically they gather round for a group interrogation. At the end, their new appointed prime minister decides which one is a lying terrorist bastard and shoots him. The last one left wins a trip to Fallujah in an unarmored Humvee with a vanity license plate that says, "CIA stooge."

10. I'm Afraid Many Americans Would Dig This Kind Of Justice....
I am all for a hard line against terrorists but summary executions smell like Nazism and Stalinism...

11. When did he first post the story?
One thing I have noticed about Drudge's archives is that they do not include "today", so if he bumps a story off that was posted "today", it won't show in the archive until "tomorrow". Check back after Saturday starts showing in the archive to see if it is there.
