Uh oh - John Edwards has a "problem" brother!
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 07:04 AM by mandyky
Go to Google News and google Wesley Edwards. He's had a bunch of DUIs apparently, along with other moving violations. NY Daily Post (or News) has one article. I heard this one CSpan WJ.

Can we handle another Billy Carter or Roger Clinton as Second Brother?
I know shrub has 2 brothers who were involved in Silverado.

1. That's been known for a long time.
Listen, John Edwards was not only vetted by the Kerry team, but also by the Gore team--he was a VP candidate in '00. Obviously, both teams figured it wasn't a serious issue. Besides, Neil Bush ain't exactly Gandhi.

4. This could be used by the democrats if they had any guts. Compare
who has gotten hurt the most by whose brother.

16. I did not even know he had a brother, LOL
I don't usually pay close attention to stuff like that. I just thought it odd the moderator on CSpan this morning mentioned it, and figured it might go mainstream sometime this week.

5. Neil Bush
It's time to start hammering them over Neil Bush if this is the game he wants to play. He cost the tax payers over $1 billion in the savings and loan scandal, and has a taste for underage asian prostitutes. That's a lot worse than a DWI in my opinioN!

10. That's a lie!
Those girls just showed up at his Hotel room. He had NO IDEA that they were prostitutes, maybe they just wanted to borrow a cup of sugar.

in a drunken stupor by running him over, didn't she? This story has been in the news for a couple of weeks now. The GOP isn't making a big deal of it because the Bush's have more than their fair share of druggies and drunks in the family.

Edit for spelling.

7. Cheney and Bush both have DUIs
I'd rather the president's brother have some DUIs than both the president and vice president.

This is silly.

8. Hell, Bush AND Cheney have DUIs...
Not to mention Pickles and her vehicular homicide, and the Bush twins alcohol incidents.

I don't see ANY way the right wingers can play this card and not get trumped three different ways.

have been pulled over for drunk driving.

13. Counterpoint: Neil Bush
Neil Bush has got a lot more going against him than Wesley Edwards. S&L Scandals, "crazed sex romps" with overseas hookers. . . he's enough of a counterpoint to quiet the grumbling about a "wacky brother" on Edwards' side.

in one week - - failed to show up for court date for DUI -

Yet when it comes to Neil Bush who is very well known here in CO - stories about his latest dealing with the Chinese are edited to take out the parts about those "girls who just showed up" at his hotel rooms late at night...

17. Large Family
John Edwards has a very large extended family. I'm sure that
most of them are intelligent, successful people. On the other
hand, like any family, I'm sure there are a few who have
gotten in themselves into trouble.

20. Who doesn't have a "problem" sibling?
Seriously, EVERYONE I know has a brother or sister who has given the family problems. Money, gambling, alchoholism, legal problems, drugs, affairs, bad relationships, whatever.

Every family has one. I think this just makes Edwards more of a regular guy. I sort of hope he speaks out about this issue (although I doubt he could without violating his brother's privacy).

21. Big deal. Who cares? Mary Lincoln's brothers fought for the Confederacy.
Political candidates have to answer for their brothers now? George Bush's brother stole the election in Florida for him and that was fine with George. Now there is a "brother problem".

23. Hell, he can run for president, our current president has a bunch
of DUI's and cocaine problems!!! His wife ran over and killed a person while drunk...so no big deal, John Edwards should worry about the competition. Americans don't like a sober, competent leader, they want a stupid ex drug/drunk addict.

Chug for Repugs! the newest frat drinking game.
