No it's not a new UPN sitcom (though it could be)

It's Vernon Robinson who finished first in a very crowded Repuglican primary in the NC 5th District (which voted 65% for GeeW).

Instead of Jesse's trick of blaming the black man for taking jobs, he's blaming the illegal alien, gays, etc...

"The aliens are here, but they didn't come in a spaceship. They've filled our criminal courtrooms and clogged our schools. ... They sponge off the American taxpayers. ... They've even taken over the DMV. These aliens commit heinous crimes. ... You walk into a McDonald's restaurant to order a Big Mac and find to your horror that the employees don't speak English."

It's the Twilight Zone vs Leave it To Beaver

He's a piece of work. Unfortunately, he only got 24% of the vote and attacked all the other candidates in the primary so his chances in the runoff aren't all that good. I prefer the out in the open wingnut to sly underhanded Bob Forehead type.

He's raised a ton of money though, soaking up lots of Freeper money which is OK by me too.

Oddly enough, he wasn't even endorsed by Jesse (who endorsed the 3rd place finisher).

2. Hopefully, he loses in the runoff
While it doesn't seem like Virginia Foxx would be a great congresswoman, she would be a HUGE improvement over this nut Robinson. He was probably just pandering to the extreme right, knowing that at least a quarter or so of the Republican primary electorate would vote for a nut like him and secure him a spot in the runoff. But, I doubt he can win the runoff.

5. That's unlikely
It could be a nasty runoff (the worst adds I heard were from Robinson aimed at Foxx), but it's unlikely Foxx will win.

She had an outstanding run (they both did) since the odds-on favorite was Ed Broyhill and everyone else was fighting for second place), but her advantage was that she was the only candidate (out of SEVEN) from the western side of the district, so she pulled heavily from that area while the other six divided up the eastern (and larger) side around Winston-Salem.

In a head to head race I doubt she has enough support to beat Robinson.

But it would certainly be interesting... "Virginia Foxx" sounds more like a adult film star's name than a Representative's.

8. You are right ...
... her name does sound more like an adult film star's than that of a representative ...

3. I love this guy...
although i hope he doesn't have the snowball's chance in hell of getting elected.

Unfiltered has him on as a guest once in a while, and he's at least a good sport about it all.

Thouroughly insane, but a good sport. We need entertainment like this.

4. McDonald's? Noone wants a McDonald's job, for long, anyway.
Anyway, its the jobs and money that is leaving the country altogether that bothers me. The "aliens" coming into the country have been supported by the Republican Party ever since it's founding, so that they can push wages and salaries for Americans already here down.

That guy is a racist nut.

6. Jessee didn't endorse him, but he did contribute to him.
And is a likely supporter now that his candidate is out (IMO).

7. I don't think I'd describe it as "horror"
to find that the employees at McDonald's don't speak english.

Horror is after you've eaten the Big Mac and feel that first rumble in your gut...

Guys like this do more for us than we ever could by making themselves look total fools.
