Two glimmers of hope .... |
|
Felt really down today with the media coverage. All of Bush's lies, all the scandals that did not go anywhere because Congress is in repub hands, 900 soldiers dead, no WMD, Haliburton, WE WENT TO WAR BASED ON FALSE ASSUMPTIONS, and the media focuses on Berger's socks ....
At this point I see only a couple of things that could help turn the election for Kerry/Edwards. (I think they have to win decisively or Rove will steal it as he did in 2000.)
1) Plame indictments. Senior level officials involved and wrongdoing alleged by Cheney and Bush
2)When Bush has to actually work - re: campaign alot; he gets tired, cranky and very sloppy. One slip or unguarded moment to reveal his true nature - not that the media would report it probably.
Aaarghhh. What a frustrating day. Off to bed ...

2. The Berger stuff is lame and it was a lot of fury for nothing. |
|
Even the repubs on capital hill didn't even seem all too enthused about spouting the lies. This is such a dead issue, if anyone is saying anything about it all you need say is this...
"Berger fully admitted everything, and his own mistakes, I think that his taking immediate responsibility for his actions was very admiral."
Also it was totally a tactic of the RW to divert attention from the 9/11 report, and yeah the crap about Berger's socks is complete BS and his lawyer and all of the democrats agreed on this.
Don't be so bummed yeah it was in the news but by the end of the day it was a dead issue.

... still going to work my a** off for Kerry. Have got three formerly apathetic members of my family to F911 and to promise to vote for Kerry. Convinced one former Bush supporter to watch F911 when it comes out on DVD.
I'll keep working and praying ....

4. it was a painful news day, annxburns. |

the media flagrantly demonstrating its co-optation and/or cowardice.
the two possiblities you describe are likely ones, and there are others.
just hang in, ok? what it really all comes down to is how you feel about your own self in it all. i know that as hard as it is, giving up would feel worse.
peace!
