Disgusting message from the kerry site
"Thank you for attempting to send a message to the John Kerry Campaign. To
better handle and manage our email volume, please use our new web form
reached by clicking the link below:"

I typed in many words expecting themto get to JFK and I get this.

Isend several hundred dollars to him and this is what I get? Excuse me but the money I sent alone could hire a simple email responder to read the mail sent. Wake up!

Or are you in here just to piss people off? Welcome to DU, I think. One more question, does the bush campaign have a message like this? I'll bet they do, although I'm not 100% positive of that.

5. Oh please...

Kerry's campaign gets thousands of e-mails a day. Responding to each one individually would require so many resources it would take away from more efficient methods of connecting with voters.

I get multiple e-mails a day from the Kerry campaign. They even have my name at the top. It's a letter addressed to thousands of others, of course, but that little tidbit is enough for my own ego.

10. I'm not sure that qualifies as "disgusting"
Annoying, perhaps.

This doesn't really register on my disgust meter.

I'm thinking prison torture, beheadings, genocide in Sudan, unnecessary war, and whole swaths of the 9/11 report fall under disgusting.

Sorry if I can't get worked up about a campaign annoyance.

You could have sent an email to webmaster@johnkerry.com and expressed your disappointment with their current system. And, unless their email server had some sort of filter to screen out emails from you, it would have gotten through, too.

Just FYI.

25. supperDem,
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 07:27 PM by nu_duer
Our nation is in grave danger. We are on the verge of being corrupted beyond repair. Who knows what secret precedents have been set by this greed-mad, murder-happy, woefully un-patriotic gang of thugs currently in control of our government. We are broke, far weaker economically, and militarily, less free, more divided, and more alone in the world. Knowing that these evil bastards will be in control six more months scares the shit out of me. I don't think our fair land could survive another four years.

Everything is at stake, and Kerry is the only person on earth that can remove this fraudulent regime from power, and hopefully, pull us out of the quagmires in which we find ourselves. Only Kerry can get rid of bush and the lying anti-patriots who serve him.

So, with all that is riding on this election, and with the increasing danger and restraint we are subjected to, and with all the indignancy a true patriot can muster, I ask - can you not see how your complaint might seem shallow, and suspect?

27. No you have a right to complain...I use DU to vent all the time...
a week or so ago I bitched because it was difficult for me to get our website linked at JohnKerry.com, I even said that if they'd link us under unofficial Kerry sites that I'd change my Avatar...guess what we're linked now as Santa Rosa Cty, Fla for Kerry...(the magic of DU, so somebody out there is reading) and I changed the Avatar and came on over....

Feel free to vent. Tomorrow I'm going to give what I can to Kerry before the convention and find some money to give to Skinner for putting up with all of my shit.

We have to win this, it's too important. Stay in camp, your needed more than any other time in my adult life.

First time ever I have donated to a political campaign. But I don't expect to get a personal e-mail from John Kerry. In fact, I'd be shocked if I did. I want him out there campaiging, talking to people --especially in the battleground States. I don't want him sitting at a pc anwering e-mails!

Kerry should have at least hired some sweatshop workers to make everyone that donates feel a little bit special. I find it disgusting that he couldn't find the time to put a bunch of immigrants in the back of a pick-up truck and bring them down to the office to answer e-mails. I'm voting Nader.

Is this guy supposedly gave hundreds of dollars to the Kerry campaign, and he can't even spell the word "Super".

And he thinks complaining about not getting a personal email thanking him for the donation will make us change our minds.

It's obvious. Conservatives must think we're as gullible as they are.

35. He misspelled "advertise" in another thread...
and he implied that it was due to his "liberal teachers" back in school.

In another thread I saw he posted something snide about Sandy Berger. He probably thought he was being so clever and sneaky....as if no one would catch on. These freepers are even dumber than I thought.

I volunteer at the Kerry campaign national headquarters in DC. The people there are painfully dedicated, I think you would be genuinely shocked by the amount of correspondence we get. As a matter of fact, one of our duties is to personally respond-with a handwritten note- to voters in key states, thanking them for their support and sending info about the campaign. The people there really, really do care very strongly..it simply isn't possible to respond personally to everyone.

40. Drop the homeschool prejudice, ok?
My eldest child was homeschooled up until the time he was old enough to enter middle school. He is an honor student, quite happy and socially well adjusted.

His two younger brothers are following the same homeschool schedule, and show every sign of repeating his achievements.

The poster you taunt deserves your disdain, but homeschooled children do not (and neither do the parents that chose homeschooling).

Give it a rest, ok? Your joke isn't very funny. Perhaps that's due to that fact that it isn't very accurate.

spell as poorly as Freepers do. Some people do homeschooling who should not and for reasons that are wrong.

42. You may be correct.
Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 12:06 PM by demwing2
Perhaps I do have a thin skin regarding this issue. Homeschooling has developed a bad reputation amongst the lefty types because so many right wingers choose to homeschool.

Well, many right wingers vote, get involved in community activities, receive college educations, and donate portions of their income to legitimate charities. Do those activities deserve the same treatment as homeschooling?

The fact that RWers engage in an activity does not define that activity. Homeschooling is a good choice for some families (not for all), and I'm tired of defending homeschooling against broad, ill-defined attacks, such as a "joke" built on the basic assumption that home schoolers are less intelligent than public school students.

If I am thin skinned it's because I've run into so many thick headed attempts to trash homeschooling.

Imagine if I acted that way towards a minority culture, or towards women, and then clucked at the butt of my "humor" with a recommendation to toughen up and get over it? I doubt that dog would hunt in this forum.
