"Dukakis" Photo And "Shove It" Show Signs of Desperation
This is clearly a GOP machine set to panic. First of all, the Dukakis reference only reminds voters that Kerry would have looked good in a tank. Every politician has photos where they look dumb, but the Dukakis photo made him look weak - a big no-no. Kerry doesn't look weak, he just looks dumb.

But more importantly, the GOP attempts show definite signs of strain - they are reaching and look it.

As far as the "shove it" comment, that's about as shocking as Shania Twain saying, "Damn, I feel like a woman." If anything, it will only resonate with female voters. It doesn't even get to Babs Bush calling Ferraro a $4 million "rhymes with rich."

I know alot of people around here like to say the sky is falling at every news cycle, but this is actually something to take heart from. These guys are desperate.

Now look at all those big pee-pee symbols. So butch!

4. Amen
The NASA picture of Kerry is funny. OK? It's funny.

No one assails Jon Stewart for making fun of Kerry, which he does ALL THE TIME.

Why?

Because it's funny.

Dems have decided to stop the mocking and the ad hominem attacks because they know they are now fighting from a position of strength.

Repubs will continue the mocking and the ad hominem attacks because it's all they got right now.

I like seeing how desperate they are. I find it encouraging.

7. There is something to be said for being able to laugh at one's self.
Rethugs lack a sense of humor.

8. The Republicans need to spew negativism in an order to divide the country
to win. Bill Clinton was right last night when he said, "They need a divided America. We don't."

The Republicans are the party of the Southern Strategy and the "do whatever it takes to win" campaigning.

John Kerry, on the other hand, wants to lead an America united to do what is right for it's citizens and the world, end the negative, partisan bickering, and move our country forward.

I say, Go, John Kerry and John Edwards!

10. I agree, they are getting desperate
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 04:29 PM by REVOLT823
Is this all they have? If so, they are going to run out of ammo real fast. I agree that Kerry looks silly, but who wouldn't in that get-up. They are obviously having a good time. Best thing about Kerry, he has the ability to laugh at himself, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes light of the whole situation and scores some points from it.

11. I was thinking the same thing
today when I heard they were trying the Dukakis reference on NPR. Things must not be looking too good on their internal polls.
