Let's have the government subsidize a dollar per gallon. That will save people a lot more money.

Hell, lets cut the price in half.

If saving 18 cents a gallon is good then a dollar a gallon is great!!!

Don't people understand the tax money has to be replaced from somewhere??? And NO, the bill will not pass to charge the oil companies. Bush will Veto it.

The american people are idiots!

1. NOT ALL American people.........Hillary supporters who don't know much......
Those are the ones who supported and defended this silly pandering.

They think Hillary, a candidate for President can say something, and it's all there is to it.

2. I'll support suspending the gas tax if there is a windfall tax levied on oil profits in return.

A straight swap, but the only difference is that the new tax would be more progressive in nature, as it is a tax on income, not a tax on production which invariably falls on consumers, not producers.

3. Why not eliminate the gas tax altogether?
With SUV's flooding the market for cheap money, everyone will be able to own one.
Heaven know's they'll be necessary, because our highways will look like the surface of the moon if there's no funds to maintain them.
