I Saw Wes Clark Today!
Book signing in Boston. He was great, said he was thrilled about speaking at the DNC on Thursday night. I told him many of us were anxious to hear him and were happy he was a part of the convention.

3. The General's convention schedule
Is up at www.wespac2004.com. Finally.

Tomorrow he'll be on FAUX news at 10am EDT, and on CNN w/Larry King at 9pm EDT. Also looks like there will be some sort of "Generals' Program" --doesn't say what time, but looks like it will be late enough to make the C-SPAN coverage.

There's some sort of national security panel tomorrow from noon to 2pm that Clark will participate in, but it won't be televised. Boy, I'd love to see that.

Of course, we're ALL looking forward to his Thursday nite appearance. You're SO lucky to have gotten to see him, and to be there for all the rest. Have a great time!

12. I only know what's at the WesPAC site
Says it will be hosted by Congressman Marty Meehan, if that helps, but no location given.

Meehan is from Massachusetts, so maybe someone from the MA delegation could find out?

If you do find it, would you mind reporting back what gets said?

It will supposedly be at Suffolk University. Couldn't find anything more about it.

5. Wonderful!
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 03:41 AM by Frenchie4Clark
He was great on Hardball....and Ben Affleck said that the General was sexy and charimatic and had gravitas. I will have to hunt down the article where he said that.....(edited because I found the story)...

Must be a right wing mag...as they are calling Wes....Mr. Clark instead of General.

http://tinyurl.com/64zh3

... Celebrity watching: Actor Ben Affleck created the biggest stir of all the folks who¹ve stopped by the Iowa delegation breakfast at the Long WharfHotel. Affleck, who followed Wesley Clark and spoke briefly to the delegates
Tuesday, was mobbed by Iowans after he left the lectern.

"Mr. Affleck, this didn't happen to Mr. Clark. Why?" Radio Iowa news
director O. Kay Henderson asked. "Oh, I don't know," Affleck said with a laugh. "Mr. Clark's extremely charismatic. I think he¹s sexy, to be perfectly honest."

Later, Henderson reported that Affleck told her he thought people did not assign him the same gravity they do Clark. Yet, on CNN the night before, Larry King was asking Affleck about the chances he might run for office someday, something the movie star said he has considered. ...

10. Hey me too!
I was so nervous when he was signing my book that I could barely say "thank you, sir".

Re: the gravitas being discussed here, for some reason "sir" kept coming out of my mouth - he's very warm and charming but his presence just demands respect.

11. He canceled a speaking event with the Oklahoma delegation
Oklahoma, the only victory for Clark has yet to see Clark. There is a story about it on an Oklahoma website called www.okdemocrat.com, the posting is titled

"Clark cancels speech to Oklahoma delegates "
