Don't let the Bush Administration Postpone or Cancel the Election
In the name of "The War on Terrorism"!

The legislation that would allow them to do it, through office of "Homeland Security" has already been submitted to Congress:
http://globalresearch.ca/articles/RUP407A.html
http://globalresearch.ca/articles/CHO407C.html
http://globalresearch.ca/articles/TAR407C.html

The situation is not hopeless. Dianne Feinstein has put up spirited and truthful opposition to it on the floor of the Senate. A number of Republicans aren't comfortabele with it either.

Let your Senators and Representatives know you are strongly against this. Even if they are Republicans, let them know!

Staging some "National Emergency" is just how Fascists do seize power and terminate Democracy. Let's not give them any opportunity to do it! We know from 2000 how little they care for fairness and legitamacy in elections.

4. Well, that letter is a bit encouraging.
But it would have been a whole lot better if he had flatly promised to oppose any legislation empowering to postpone or cancel an election!

Note, there are already are suitable laws in place which allow elections to be extended, the polls kept open longer so everyone has a chance to vote if there is some problem or disturbance. We don't want anything more.

2. If all else fails,
"NO WORK, NO VOTE!"

There's nothing like a national strike, even if it only involves a sizeable minority, to get their attention.

6. I TOTALLY AGREE
But if some "Terrorist" incident strangely happens to materialize right before the election, we better already have OUR plan in place to resist any suspension of Democracy!

We also need to explain to people why we are doing what we do, because of course the Bush Administration would try to depict us helping the terrorists.

The Bush Administration has already done enough to encourage terrorism. We could never surpass them at that game!

3. I still think they're going to invoke BBV
as their reason to cancel or postpone the elections.

5. unless half the country is on fire and under attack
by aliens with ray guns, if Bush declares an emergency that would "cancel" the election for anything less, he will likely have a civil war on his hands . . . and the military might even face some extreme division in its own ranks, making enforcement of His Majesty's proclamations somewhat difficult.

I don't think it has enough support to pass, but I've already both called and written my representatives. Everyone who hasn't yet should do the same.

7. You know how the legislative tricks go
If they can't this through by light of day, they'll try to attatch it as a rider to a long bill about something completely different...and hope the Democrats don't even read it.

Look at all the anti-constitutional junk they slipped through in those "Patriot Acts"!

We need to stay on our toes here!

8. Didn't the House pass a unanimous resolution recently
declaring it's opposition to any such move? Darn I really rely on 'DU Advanced Search' to help out my short-term memory, hehe...
