Cheney vs. Edward
I am looking forward to hearing those two debate. But do debates matter? If so, why.

I also think Edward might do better, but Cheney is an old evil soul! Michavelli review recommended for Edwards.

3. One look at Cheney
and little kids will be scared to death! Edwards,on the other hand, looks like your next door neighbor who will be glad to check on your dog while you're on vacation.

6. it should be great
Edwards: "...and I was raised as an average american! I had to work hard for every thing I have to day. I've spent my life fighting for the common man. What about you Mr. Cheney? Oh yes, that's right. You directed a massive coperation which is now getting sweetheart contracts in Iraq."

Cheney: "Go fuck your yourself.

9. Tweety was talking about that tonight. He inferred Edwards wasn't
up to debating Dickhead, he said "Cheney has a IQ of 160 or something." What an asshole Tweety is!

13. That's funny
How does Tweety know what Cheney's IQ is? Did he read it in a post on freeperville??

How does he know that John Edwards doesn't have an IQ of 170?

Sometimes Madspews is just an idiot.

It ain't what you got. It's what you do with it.

10. Putting Cheney In The Public Eye Is Great For Democrats
Yeah, he's ready to be President. Keep repeating that one! As if it weren't one of the creepiest thoughts in the world. Even my Republican friends think it would be spooky.

11. Cheney isn't president material...
...but he is very sharp and someone a politician should be wary of in a debate. Evil supervillains don't become evil supervillains by being stupid.

Edwards gives great camera, but I think a debate with Cheney runs the risk of Edwards getting run over by Cheney when it comes substantive delivery. While Edwards is very good at stump speeches, a debate is a whole 'nother animal and Cheney is masterful at it while I've seen little evidence that Edwards is.

I guess we'll find out, and I can't wait to see it.

14. Yeah, Edwards is no good at debate
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 10:28 PM by Enraged_Ape
He's only one of the most successful trial lawyers in the whole country. Lawyers from around the nation actually attended Edwards' trials just to see him in action.

If you really think that John Edwards wouldn't hand Mr. Sneers his ass in any debate on Earth, then I seriously wonder whether you've been paying attention the last four years.

15. Well you are right on one account
I really haven't been paying terribly close attention over the last four years, and certainly not to Edwards -- why would I have until recently?. It is yet another election cycle, and I'll do my math and pull the lever. Still being a lawyer, celebrated or otherwise, does not make one a good debater. Practicing law has very little to do with debate in practice. In fact, I would say that practicing law has for more similarity to stump speeches than debate.

16. well--perception affects people's opinions.
Edwards will be like Kennedy--youthful and handsome and articulate.

Cheney will not look good next to him.

This will be an easy win for us.

18. Fortunately, Edwards excels at both
The stump speech and the lawyering. A lot of being a good lawyer -- or so my laywer friends tell me -- is knowing how to debate your opponent. Best believe The Breck Girl will be doing his research.

I, for one, will be sitting 5 inches in front of the television with popcorn.

17. Edwards Has Plenty Of Experience Against Evil Old CEOs
as an trial attorney. He excells in a personal setting, such as a court room or a debate hall, and has a spectacular record of wins.

I'm extremely confident in his abilities. :)
