1. John Lennon: "Imagine"
... if John Edwards was the Presidential Candidate?

Would ANYONE stand a chance against him?

"I don't think so, Tim."

3. What a...
wonderfully hopeful and optimistic speech. He really took the high road at every point--despite numerous opportunities to bash the * administration. I cannot wait for him to debate VP Crashcart!

Wahoo!

6. Edwards vs. Cheney:
"Hope is on the way" vs. "Fuck off!"

Seems like an easy choice...

7. Exactamente!
Little Orphan Annie: "If I said the bad words that Dick Cheney said, I would be put on 'time out'. I think that Dick Cheney should be put on time out.... And President Bush should be put on a very long time out."

A debate with Edwards vs. Cheney ? I'm begging to TAPE it and send copies to every single person I've ever met in my 59 years!!!! Democrat, Independant and Republican.

11. November's gonna be my favorite month
I gotta admit, I'm an old crank. I start groaning whenever candidates start on about their wonderful families. But by "it doesn't have to be this way" I was getting into the spirit, and by "hope is on the way!" -- well, yeah, he touched me, and I can't give up. After watching Barack Obama, I had to promise myself to be optimistic and cheerful for 24 hours, and darned if John Edwards didn't make me say the same thing. This could get to be a habit!

14. I think he delivered on the speech tonight, for sure.
I wasn't as roused as I was when I saw him on C-Span stumping in Iowa, but maybe that was because that was the first time I saw him.

But he hit it out of the ballpark tonight, nonetheless. He definitely has "it." That charisma. The gift.

19. "Edwards Delivers" good CNN online article by Carlos Watson
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 08:50 AM by wishlist
Positive article this morning:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/07/28/watson/index.html

I was very pleased how Edwards rebutted the lies being spread that Kerry is going to immediately raise everyone's taxes by $900 billion. That needs to be clearly explained by Kerry and in T.V. ads repeatedly the way Edwards did.

His statements about being tough on terrorism were very necessary and important to counter the Cheney message that went out this week painting the Dems as weak against terror.

And I liked his strong message about staying positive despite all the negative attacks and saying how sick he was over the low road being taken by the other side.
