9. Regardless of what happens I have to admit that I've been a little disappointed in Dems. |
|
The black votes don't really count arguments just left me with a lot of disgust. A black vote is a vote. Period.

2. What she is really saying is we can't win without the support of racists. |
|
And if that's who we have to pander to in order to win, I'd rather lose and let this country die the death it deserves for wallowing in such attitudes.

7. If the super delegates |
|
take this away from Obama based on this rationale for Hillary being the nominee spin I will leave the Democratic Party.
I listened to what Hillary said and it's hard to take her words any other way. She was essentially saying that she needed to be the nominee because white people won't vote for Obama. White people are voting for Obama and will continue to do so. Assuming all those "working class white people" will somehow turn to McSameasBush is a specious argument.

Someone here once wrote, 'We don't always get the government we deserve, but we always get the government we earn.' IMHO, *that* is why we need to continue to fight. We will get what we earn.
And I'm very glad to have you on our side, TahitiNut!
On edit: Just so I'm clear--I only really disagree a tiny bit. The sentiment is the same! :)

3. I was in a line for an Obama town meeting today. |
|
There sure were an awful lot of white people and women. I'd guess about 98% of the former and 50% of the latter.
But then using Clinton math, that's probably not much.

4. This is all over Drudge too. The sad thing is Hillary is making Republicans look good |
|
Now Republicans can point to Hillary as a racist or race-baiter while Republicans forget all the times they have pulled the same crap. She is making Democrats look bad and it's pissing me off.

15. Ron Brownstein, Chuck Todd and Tweety---- |
|
The day before the Indiana Vote these three Pundits sat on MSNBC and Ron using records from all previous primary elections: they sat there and illustrated in no uncertain terms with data how Obama does have problems with certain groupx. They had no problem saying. He has to win Indiana and prove he can win a rustbelt state. Overnight the story changed. They ignored the fact he could not win a rustbelt state and suddenly NC. was a great win. Anyone who knows math knows that with the Democratic Party in NC being 40% Black, there was no way Hillary could win.
This is the sort of thing that makes people not turst the Media.
It was the Media who were saying and proving that Obama has problems with groups of voters. Yes, the Media called them WHite, White WOMEN White working class. The Media are acting like a bunch of Hjypocrits. It was the Media who said Obama needs to win In. to prove he can win a rustbelt state. See Hardball Archives May 2, 5.P.M. edition

18. Obama actually won or tied for the lead in the working class vote |
|
Edited on Thu May-08-08 07:22 PM by ecdab
(working class being defined as income under 50K for the the purposes of these numbers)in 3 of the last four states - 66% in MS, 50% in IN, and 54% in NC. So I guess the whole white working class thing has been reduced to just white. Plus his support among white voters has actually increased in the last 3 primaries over what happened in MS and OH.
