I'm no longer just voting against Bush....
I was always a fan of Kerry's but questioned whether he was the right candidate (as I did about the other candidates as well).

But everything about the campaign he's been running and the speech he gave last night made me believe that not only does he have a very good chance at beating Bush but if and when he does, that he will be a great president.

Starting from the way he handled the rumor of an affair early on and didn't flail around trying to innoculate it or give any ammunition, to his front porch speeches, to picking Edwards as his VP, to defending his wife when she spoke her mind, and finally to the convention and the people who spoke and how they spoke of him, and most importantly the speech he gave last night.

I'll admit I was worried that he would be ponderous or not strike the right balance of populism and strength. He sent a message. He is liberal, he are caring, but he is also strong. He hit Bush directly but not by name.

I'm stoked. I'm very stoked.

1. I was worried that would make him Gore.
I felt sorry for Gore as he just would not be him self and he is a pretty good guy. I really felt good about Kerry after this. He seems t be his own man. I seem to be a Dem in my mind and not just for anyone man.

2. This whole week has made me a much stronger Kerry supporter.
The speech last night was the capper. When I was in Boston on Tuesday we were on the T with two other people who had convention creds on. One of them came over to us to read our stickers - Pro-Kerry/Pro-Edwards/Pro-Choice. They liked them. I asked them if they were working the convention. They said, sort of, they were Kerry staffers. Both of the have worked for him for over 15 years. You could see in their eyes when they spoke of him their love for him. The said was a great guy he was. I thought to myself, if he could only get that across -- his likability, his values, etc. He did that last night.
