WhiteGate should carry more weight with the media and the public than WrightGate
But probably won't.

In the second case, we were inundated with twenty second video clips of an outspoken pastor voicing some sentiments which made it easy for many to try to pretend they were sentiments shared by Obama. Or at least listened to with a sympathetic ear. Obama made it very clear he does not share those views by rejecting them forcefully and renouncing Reverend Wright.

The voice we heard using race in characterizing the election was not Hillary's pastor or one of her advisors or surrogates. It was hers and hers alone: "Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."

It would be incredible if progressive Americans, hard working or not, college educated or not, white or black or brown or yellow, don't reject this woman. But it would also be all too believable if the media (minus Keith) grants her a pass on this type of rhetoric.

11. You know....

...I do believe that is what bothers me so very much about that "white" statement from Hillary ~~ it just completely smacks of something that George Wallace would have and could have said.

6. I forgot to include Jon
That look he gave after playing the audio clip was priceless.

I'm mainly concerned that the mainstream media (sorry, Jon) won't treat this as they did Wright.

9. Not just the look, but the audience's reaction. Like that scene in O Brother Where Art Thou.
When the racist candidate began ranting to the crowd and they saw him for who he was, and began booing and throwing things, finally (literally) riding him out on a rail. That's where she's headed.

14. It was a moment where all you could do was gasp or boo.
I think much of the audience was in shock, and the look on Jon's face said it all.

5. Shhh--you aren't supposed to care about this--Hillary was just being a "fighter."
She was just talking about "demographics."

She was quoting an article.

Somebody else made her do it.

It depends on what the definitions of "white" and "hard working" are.

10. Here's a scab....Let's pick at it!
The best estimate at this moment is that Obama has received the votes of 16.8 million Americans. In the general election, he's going to need something on the order of 45 million MORE votes to win in November.

Is there something about a strategy of alienating potential supporters that appeals to you in this particular context?

It's over. Obama has won.

Leave it alone and move on to attacking the enemy. And I breathlessly await the first response that explains to me that Hillary IS the enemy.

12. Our msm will give her a pass on it because they have been using the same type of discusting language
The only difference is that Hillary is saying "hard working" whereas the msm leaves that out. Just my opservation.
