Poll question: Time to Close this Forum?
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 09:53 AM by BurtWorm
Now that the Dem nominee has been anointed and many are naturally posting campaign-related threads in GD, is this forum's purpose moot? Or should people be encouraged to post election related threads here?

2. Some of us who are not Democrats...
...hope this forum remains open because there ARE problems in the Democratic party, very similar to those in the Republican party. And it would be nice to have a place to voice complaints instead of having to resort to voting for Nader in the next election.

4. THAT'S the attitude that keeps Nader voters Nader voters.
If somebody is trying to decide, WHY would you push them into the Nader camp??

I DO understand voting your conscience and I DO have problems with Kerry. However, since we only have two candidates, realistically, a decision has to be made. Kerry has much more to offer Nader voters than Bush. THAT'S what we should be stressing.

5. Not 2004. Beyond that election.
I still have potential issues in my backyard which may be attributed to developers & other players with strong ties to both parties.

For now, I'm caught in the middle.

6. There are many races going on throughout the country.
Not just the presidential race. I often post about candidates running for local offices. They are vital to us as well. I always thought Campaign 2004 meant other races as well, like our senate race here for Bob Graham's seat.

Am I wrong on this?

Campaign stuff here, other issues in GD, although it does get crossed over alot of the time.

Besides, hopefully as the election gets closer, we'll need a place to post GOTV stuff and other events that won't get lost as quickly.

8. Nominee anointed?
I don't like looking through all the many subjects in General Discussion. I'd like to continue on as is. Thanks for asking.

11. keep it, there will be day by day state polls and other things
which as we get closer to the elections would crowd up the general discussion board if we get rid of this. this board will be a good place to post all those various polls of individual states which are released each day. and it's a good place to post campaign info also.
