Kind of sad, actually, the level of control they need. Carry on.

3. This is exactly how Hitler and Stalin consolidated power |
|
As head of the Secretariat, Stalin had all bureaucrats swear an oath of loyalty to him; when the struggle came for power, he had many legs up.
Hitler made a deal with the Army that he'd get rid of the SA (Storm Troopers) in return for a loyalty oath to him personally.
Birds of a feather...

4. More preaching to the choir |
|
No one will ever accuse the Bush folks of having too much intelligence.
If they can't get their message out to anyone but the "choir" who will they be able to convert to their cause?
It's truly sad, but as long as they keep to themselves, we will take the next election and keep a Hitleresque society from re-emerging.
I wouldn't put it past these guys to stage a modern "book burning" of sorts.
Books would not necessarily be burned, but pressure put on book publishers, newspapers, magazines to keep them from writing about "taboo" sujects.
The internet would pose some challenges, but I'm sure they would try to control it too.
Why are they so afraid of alternate views and opinions?
And the tumbleweed (isn't that what a Bush becomes when it dries out?) says that Al Qaeda is threatening our way of life.
The fact of the matter remains that the present administration would like to destroy the constitution. Something that Al Qaeda in and of themselves could never do.

5. sorry to burst your bubble |
|
but i attended the early AM Kerry rally in the North End in Boston Friday and it was pretty much the same in the sense that you cant even bring your own signs so as not to disrupt the place with a surpsie Bush sign you may want to hold. Its the same as what the Bush campaign is doing it sounds like.
