Deutsch upset because Emily's List only endorses women.
He is after Castor for her time at USF as president. He is attaching blame to her for the Al Arian problem, which is total nonsense. So now he is going after Emily's List, furious because they are endorsing her and helping her. Come on, Peter, lighten up.

Deutsch: Group Leaves Out Men
Senate candidate says EMILY's List "discriminates."

By VICKIE CHACHERE
The Associated Press

SNIP...."ST. PETERSBURG -- Political fund-raising group EMILY's List "discriminates" against men and is trying to buy the Florida Senate race for Democrat Betty Castor, rival candidate U.S. Rep. Peter Deutsch charged Friday, just days before the group's ads in support of Castor are scheduled to air.

EMILY's List, a political fund-raising network which aims to elect Democratic, pro-choice women to public office, intends to begin airing the advertisements Monday.

Deutsch said the Washingtonbased group is spending $310,000 on the ads and will air them all over Florida. Castor's campaign said it only has limited information on the advertisements and said the ads will air mostly in the Florida Panhandle.

EMILY's List declined direct comment Friday, but had already noted on its Web site that Deutsch has complained about its members supporting Castor......"END SNIP

She just got the endorsement of Jewish World because of Deutsch's attacks about Al Arian. They could even tell she was fair and open-minded.

1. Seems a little desparate and not the smartest thing to do
I don't think the wrath of Emily's list is the best thing for a Democratic Senatorial candidate to be facing.

I met him, and I kind of like him, but I also like Castor, and she seems to be running a more postive campaign. I still have a problem with Castor's cheerleading for the Patriot Act. What's up with that?

2. I think she supports some parts of it.
Most candidates do support part of it.

4. I will support the Democratic candidate
but it just seems she doesn't have a problem with any of it, which concerns me. I have other issues with Deutsche too, so I think I'll wait til the general election to get too involved. I think it's between the two of them, and I'd bet on Betty right now. I've seen her a couple times, and I think she'll make a good opponent for the Repukes.

3. Way to alienate, Duetch! I liked Peter Duetch in the 2000
election because he was speaking out for Gore and I was very grateful for that. But this stuff he is doing now is very petty and obviously isn't winning him any friends. He might feel he deserves it more than Betty Castor and that can be very dangerous for him.
