Distractions giving Hillary a Chance to WIN!!!
Clinton is in it to win it!!

While y'all are gloating and posting the same junk over and over again. Clinton is building her support in upcoming contests. Support that will give her what she needs to take this to the convention!

Think it is over? These distractions that are keeping some people from what is important like phonebanking ( http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/phonebankmap/ ) and gaining local support. While y'all are distracted the Goddess of Peace is rallying her base and will go on!

Looks like HILLARY may hold the 40 point lead!

Meanwhile it seems talk about you know actually building support for Obama just seems to be unpopular these days. A perfect chance for Clinton to get in MAJOR victories!!!

http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/phonebankmap/ must be a lonely place these days....

The Goddess of Peace continues on!

Chew on that when you start dreaming out support for Obama being unpopular these days.

any big States. What part of BIG States don't Obama's supporters understand? I'm LOL. You say California like it's a big State. It shrunk. Now it was Big when Hillary won it in the Primary, anymore, not so big. OMG, this is too funny. Most States can cram 370 delegates into one county.

I'm like so laughing!

8. It's not about Hillary giving up. It's about the facts.
Obama is now just 165 delegates away from 2025. Hill is 329 delegates away from it. There is now virtually no way for her to pull ahead by any metric other than SDs and it's been clear for some time where that's headed. Obama got 9 just yesterday.

Your hysterical posts beseeching people to phonebank- something I've done in the past- aren't actually helpful, because of their hysterical tone.

52. Hillary can only win if we continue to feed her anger-baiting because it keeps her campaing alive...
As long as we continue to rise to her anger-baiting we are telling the world that Hillary is still a threat, we are afraid of her, and she is still relevant to the GE.

Take cues from Obama, who has stopped reacting to her anger-baiting and has his eyes focused on November and uniting the Dems.

Goodbye to Clinton's double digit Ohio win
by svotaw1992
Fri May 09, 2008 at 04:25:34 PM PDT
I didn't see this posted anywhere, but Ohio has official results up for the primary. The numbers have changed significantly.

svotaw1992's diary :: ::
According to unofficial old results on RealClearPolitics.com and thegreenpapers.com, the race was won by Clinton 1,212,362 to 982,489 for a difference of 229,873 (or 10.4%).

The new official results are 1,259,620 to 1,055,769 for a difference of 203,851 (I had to add the districts up individually since I couldn't find statewide totals anywhere). That's a change of 26,022 toward Obama. The lead for Clinton is at a final margin of 8.8%, so I guess she didn't get that double digit victory in Ohio after all. Looks like there were lots of provisionals and absentee for Obama that didn't get counted on election night.

West Virginia is also coming up. With 660,000 resgistered Democrats and assuming a huge turnout, we get about 300,000 votes. If Clinton wins by 20%, that's a 60,000 vote margin. She's already lost a big chunk of that (26,000) with the Ohio official update. That's means the popular vote totals won't change much after West Virginia vote on Tuesday (for those who are even paying attention).

UPDATE
For those of you asking, there were just under 100,000 provisional ballots accepted out of 123,000 cast. So yes, this change is reasonable.

Wow... first time on the rec list. I was just passing time on a lazy Friday afternoon at work. I hope someone double checks my numbers. ;-)
(hattip to northhanger for verifying the numbers from the SoS site)

UPDATE2
For those of you who are curious, the West Virginia Democratic primary turnout in 2004 was 252,000.

58. I respectfully disagree with you...
It's very important to stay on top of the numbers and the mis-information that we get flooded with everyday. They are are counting on us not to notice the truth. they make it a point to make a big deal about every time Hillary beats Obama by "double digits". They try to hold this over our heads as a "reminder" that "Obama can't win white votes"

Well if we keep in mind that Hillary has trouble beating Obama by blowout numbers, the we can help stomp out the lie that he can't get the "white vote"

She didn't get double digits in
PA
OH
and Indiana was only won by .885% not even 1%
it's important for people to know that.

Peace Out!

The OP has 2 objectives:

It's a nice try - but too transparent for me.

Edited on Sat May-10-08 09:13 AM by rocknation
Quite the opposite: Because the PA supporters got Obama to his "magic number" of 45% of the vote, he needed only 40% of the vote in IN. And since he got 40% of the vote in Indiana, he needs only 35% of the vote in WV to prevent Hillary from gaining ground. Conversely, because Hillary didn't get 65% of PA and 69% of IN, she is now going to have to get 86% of the vote the rest of way to win fair and square!

P.S. For the record, Hillary won PA and OH by nine points, not ten, and IN by one point, not two.

39. If Hillary doesn't get a SEVENTY-TWO point lead from here on in,
Edited on Sat May-10-08 08:14 AM by rocknation
it will only help her raise money for a lost cause and give the media a reason to keep running with the story. She needs to get 86% of the vote in ALL SIX of the remaining contests to overtake Obama. Which is probably why he's been leaking out enough superdelegates to be able to clinch the delegate lead with as little as 35% of WV.

Speaking of distractions, this stuff about Obama paying Hillary's campaign debts was meant to distract us into not giving him more money. Campaign laws forbid him to take "direct responsibility" for another candidate's debts--I think paying them out of his own campaign funds would qualify as "direct responsibility."

Now, Hillary's "hard-working white people" distraction is one that can work to the advantage of WV Obama supporters. What better way to reward her than with a margin of victory MUCH smaller than expected, like in Indiana (she won by ONE point, not two), Pennsylvania (she won by nine points, not ten), and Texas? Pool your resources and hit those phones!

45. He;s right
we can't get complacent, we can cede no metric to her, because she will use that to still hang on to some supporters, the more that we can take away before/if she goes to the convention the better. If she has her current level of support going to the convention, it may not matter if obama wins, if he doesn't have enough time to unify her supporters. If he can take away EVERY conceivable metric (other than super delegate coup) we can win more supporters to his side SOONER than otherwise, and very possibly leave more time for those who haven't to change their minds before the convention. We want to improve our chances of winning the G.E. here, beating hillary is one step to that goal, but not it's not enough to reach our goals, we all need to unite, and we need that to start happening before convention time, the sooner we can win in all metrics, the sooner we can get to that point IMO(I could be wrong)

64. It doesn't matter if she wins WV by 60 points.
It's just not possible for her to catch up in pledged delegates, especially since Obama is favored to win Oregon and Montana.

My friend, you have got to come to terms with the fact that it's over.

85. But your OP says that she still has a chance to win. That's where you go wrong. She doesn't.
You have got to come to terms with reality. And if she refuses to quit that just shows that she is delusional. And who wants a delusional person to be president?

There is no metric (measure) whereby Hillary gets the nod.

I personally appreciate your commitment but it's now time to work for the party.

77. Better mortgage your house and send her all of it: She's broke.
Otherwise, do us all a favor and grow up and learn to add.

Not. Enough. Delegates.

Call whoever you want, she can't get enough delegates out of the remaining states.

2+2 still equals 4, regardless of how delusional you are.
