But it wasn’t the free pancakes that interested the audience at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1772. It was, for many, Clark’s military background and their belief that it will take a military man to beat President Bush.

In interviews ... people (many veterans) indicated Clark’s appeal was the military part of his resume.

Andy Vallone... said Clark has “the strength of character to push Bush out.” And, citing Clark’s military background, he added, “He’s not afraid to fight, and in the political arena, you have to fight.”

Curry Lashua...said of Clark, “He’s a military man whose whole life has been devoted to duty and leadership. He has the training and know-how to run large groups of people.”

2. I like Dean, but I like Cllark better.
He has it all: experience, intelligence, charisma, compassion. Dean has these too. Compare either to Shrub and it's a runaway. However, I like the studied manner that Clark exhibits. He is passionate too, but he is not rash.

3. Clark can bring middle class white guys into the party.
Kneeling before the NRA and Confederate flag flyers only looks weak, but running a military hero who can appeal to the millions of ex military can do it.

4. thanks for posting this
Clark would cut the legs off Dubya* in a debate.

He would bring up all the things that made us unprepared to go to war.....like the protective jackets, all the guns that jammed, the trucks being unprotected by metal plates. not enough translators or communications devices.....so many issues that caused people to loose their lives.
