Clark aides say Gen. misspoke when he said "I'd beat the s*** out of..."
<snip>

Jan. 12 issue - Gen. Wesley Clark has never quite learned how to behave like a politician. Before Christmas, he was asked at a town meeting in Derry, N.H., how he would respond if President Bush or Clark's own Democratic rivals questioned his patriotism or military record. Failing to see that he was being followed by a television camera, he answered, "I'll beat the s—t out of them." Clark's aides later joked that the candidate should have put out an apology, acknowledging that he had misspoken—that what he really meant to say was, "I'll beat the living s—t out of them."

3. I don't see why anyone cares
he's an adult, there's no reason he can't use adult words from time to time.

6. it's shocking, I know...
is THIS what we're teaching in our armed services? The thought of a soldier using the "s" word is just too much! Let's draft the Sunday-School teachers.. NOW!

14. At first I was disappointed
because I thought he was going to really apologize, but this was priceless. It's so nice having a candidate that knows exactly what to say exactly the way it needs to be said.

what an asinine thing to say. If bush had said something like this you folks would be tearing him to shreds.

23. We don't have TIME for Wes Clark
to waste as mayor of Little Rock...This is a critical juncture in American history. If we don't win this election, we may not win another for the next quarter century and Clark is (in my opinion) the very best shot at beating BFEE. There may not be a chance in 2008...
