OMG lamest talking point yet on Hillary and Michigan
heard on C-Span this morning, "people keep saying that Obama wasn't on the ballot in Michigan. He was - and he took his name off voluntarily." Yeah, Jimmy Carter was on the ballot too. Of course that was in 1976, but it still counts, right?

1. None of the candidates put their names on the ballot
Edited on Thu May-29-08 06:41 AM by Jake3463
The democratic party of Michigan did without the candidates permission which was against the state party rules because in Michigan like many other states you need to collect signatures to get on the ballot. The party did this because no candidate was willing to go through that process because they had violated DNC rules for moving their primary and a signature drive would constitute a campaign.

There might be some validity to this argument if Obama put his name on than took it off. He never submitted his name in the first place.

3. Wow really?
Would you be able to provide a link to the pertinent info on that? That would completely blow her argument out of the water if so, and I'd hope that someone would inform the RBC of it before Sat.. Also, no one seems to be discussing the ramifications of the Federal court rulling, declaring the law moving up the primary date to be unconstitutional (in part due to a lack of voter information being provided to third parties)

6. The court case has no bearing on the current issue, it was a ruling after the fact
and impacts and requires changes for 2012, its a typical grandfather situation, a law or its impact can't change underneath an existing situation.

2. He took his name off voluntarily - because everyone INCLUDING HILLARY agreed to do so.
Because everyone INCLUDING HILLARY agreed the MI primary violated the DNC rules and wouldn't count.

Do we need another President who doesn't keep her word, and twists the facts or ignores them completely to suit her own needs?

5. Hillary is a LIAR.
Hey, let's have a warm up game, not a real game, just a game where we scrimmage. We'll keep score, but it's not a real game. It won't count for anything.

Hey, I won, so we're going to count that game!!
