Listening to callers on C SPAN - laughing my ass off
Last one was the funniest. Guy claimed to be a "McCain Republican" from Orange County (that in and of itself is highly improbable) and then proceeded to recite what sounded exactly like Edwards campaign talking points.

Now I don't doubt that Edwards is centrist enough to get votes from McCain moderates, but this guy was just trying way too hard....

Several other calls were astroturfy as well.....

3. I don't think the Edwards one was false.
Orange Counties demographics are slowly changing. I would imagine some resentment would exist from a selfmade person about the gated communities.

9. Neither am I.
There is alot of backlash towards Bush from his own party over things like jobs and Iraq. Dean and Edwards both have rather populist anti-Washington fight for the little guy messages.

14. Why do you say
a McCain Republican is unlikely in Orange County? It is republicna territory for sure.

But you may be right this guy was a little phony.

Edited on Sun Jan-04-04 06:54 PM by maddezmom
he kept repeating that he was a McCain repub from Orange County. I'm sure after tonight's debate Edwards picked up some supporters, but I think this guy was phony.

edited: to replace he to Edwards.

17. Orange County is far right Republican
They put Bob Dornan in Congress for fucks sake! You can't get much more fundie wacko than that. McCain Republicans probably number fewer than Liberals in Orange County.

18. Your from WA, I'm a Californian.
Orange County is getting less gentrified. Believe it or not there are now working families in Orange County. He could be fake but he might not be.
