I know this has been discussed but... |

what the ___ is up with this stupid as by Bush in which he talks about parents having to choose which child to pick up first on 9-11? Who wrote this ad? I told a couple of repubs (that I am trying to convert) about the ad and they were thoroughly confused. What exactly is the message * wants to get out. I also liked the fact that Laura just sits there and says not one single word during the entire ad--nothing, nada, and she is supposedly the one people likes for "family values". My repub friend also says that she dislikes THK. She touted Laura Bush instead. I asked her whether she knew about the vehicular homicide incident and of course she didn't and said she didn't believe it. Or about the 5 DUIs between * and Cheney. She didn't know that either. How is all that "stuff" buried under the carpet? Do we need a group like the swift vets for crap to bring all that stuff up in a sneaky sort of way. Or will Kitty Kelly's book do that for us?

7. It's very weird that they're smiling during that line |
|
Almost as weird as his fond reflection to Larry King, "I'll never forget the day we went to war; I knew diplomacy had failed" -- as if it were a great birthday or something.
Weird, weird, weird.

3. Kitty Kelly's book won't help that much |
|
The great unwashed of America will not read that book, just as they haven't read Paul O'Neil's book, or Richard Clarke's book, or John Dean's book, etc, etc. There is so much information out there for anyone who wants to learn. The challege is to get the information to people who are not motivated. TV commercials are the best way to do that. A well done ad can chnage people's emotions as well as give out the facts. Groups like moveon.org need to get going fast to get out more commercials.
