You guys need to remember how much the Republican party |
|
loves to interfere with our primaries.
Please keep this in mind. Although I am no fan of the Clinton campaign, at least I recognize how it has been compromised, not by other Democrats, but by Republicans.

1. The answer: Closed primaries |
|
Not a fullproof solution, but it forces the disruptors to fill out the forms to change parties, which a lot of them are not willing to do.

2. That's one good solution. |
|
But I'm getting tired at how gullible some people are.

9. BUt that excludes important independents from becoming invested early on in a Dem candidate |
|
which could make a difference in an election like this one focused on the center.
I personally don't think the "Rush" effect is enough to warrant changing rules for, especially since this is the rare occasion when one party Primary is wrapped up early and the other one is still being dragged out in May/June.

10. I understand your point, but it has been my experience that |
|
people who are not affiliated with any party primary are voting in those primary elections to throw elections. It's stupid.

7. um ... maybe because a lot of those who "haven't figured it out" |
|
have never held any intention of voting for a Dem in the first place?

8. True, but as anyone who has gone through the primaries knows, |
|
some will cling to sources and people who seem to share their world view, even if doing so is irrational.

The republicans have had a hand in this mess. From Rush and his dittoheads plan to cross over and vote for Hillary, to Fox news and their hand in doing everything they can to attack Obama. But I thin Hillary and her camp going on Fox also helped the republicans. All the attacks on the party by Bill also helped the republicans. I heard there were republicans making video today at the DNC meeting of angry supporters saying they will vote for McCain. The republicans are going to us all of what has gone down in the primaries to their advantage, and I think there will be many republicans who will troll all the discussion boards trying to keep the fight going between Obama and Clinton supporters so the party will not unite.
Rove will be getting involved now that Oama is going to take the nomination, and things can only get worse from here on out if the democrats do not unite and back the nominee. We need to go after McCain and hit him with everything we can, which shouldn't be to hard since he is making a fool of himself all on his own! The thing I have been seeing on some boards where republicans post is they are attacking Obama with all the right wing crap, but they don't post anything about how McCain would be better, has a better plan for this country, or will make changes that will get us out of the mess we are in now. They have nothing but attacks on Obama. McCain has not united his party behind him, we need to show them the party is united and they better look out!
