where the new prez has to go to all of them and dance one dance. can presidential 'balls' go green?

the earth is in crisis, our country is in crisis.

if we ever make it to Nov. it will be time for the new prez. to be deadly serious, and furiously working.

1. We just need a steenkin' President...
We don't need no steenkin' balls!

Seriously, though, I think we're stuck with the balls. It's decorum, a reward for supporters, and all that.

3.  I opened this up hoping it was not going to be.........
another fighting thread on Obama because of his anatomical parts, vs. Hillary's parts. So relieved. I'm not sure about the various balls. There are just so many people to thank after an election. Maybe that's how they have to do it to accommodate the hard working folks who have been donating time and money. Anyone ever been to one of these special occasions?

8. please notice the word 'green'

can not 'thank you's' be given in a green way? isn't it our wish that climate change be worked on right away after the election?

shouldn't we have a 'green' inaugural?

9. I think those balls are important social interactions for a new prez but
it would be cool if the planners would go green and set a new tone for the administration. :)

13. Most wartime Presidents toned down the festivities drastically. Only Bu**sh** ...
thought it was appropriate to stage elaborate festivities while sending American soldiers off to die.

Compare Carter's inauguration with Reagan's. Carter was trying to minimize waste; Reagan was trying to blow the budget before he held the office even one day.

14. I like the balls
it's nice to see people really dressed up for a change but it would be supper COOL for them to go green. I'm sure that Obama will have a really green ball. :-)

16. Wait just a second, dammit!!
This is the first time I've had a fighting chance to get to attend one of the damn things, and I'm looking forward to hanging with Carlos Santana for an evening.

Dance like nobody can see you!!
