Has Hillary's campaign turned into cult of personality? |
|
I've seen this mentioned several times on DU over the last few days. What do you think?

They are saying that they don't care about Clinton's policy.......but only the fact that Hillary is Hillary.
Since they threaten to otherwise vote for a NeoCon warmongering Anti-Choice Pro-Corp candidate who calls his wife a Cunt........
what else could they be?

8. If they vote McCain, then yes. |

Shows they care more about Hillary the person and less about Hillary's policies and beliefs.

Now just what does that mean "cult of personality" for Hillary or Obama for that matter. It's all "cult of personality" no matter who you are voting for or what office. We don't like people who are too short, too fat, too homely, too pretty, too smart or too dumb (well we do like the dumb better than the smart, GWB is an example) Studies have shown Americans time and time again to be the most shallow of the voting world. So what on earth does it mean to say "cult?" I will say there are a lot of kool aide drinkers in politics.

11. remember how we Obama supporters were called cult like? and yet |
|
it's the Hillary supporters who can't accept the results, who say they will not vote for Obama (while exit polls indicate that greater numbers of Obama supporters are true democrats and will support the Dem nominee no matter who) and have crazy sites like Hillary is 44 and such.

13. Yes. It's a cult based solely on hatred and lies. |

16. Fair enough, I think you are right about that |

Some of the people who were there protesting yesterday really freaked me out. They were so hostile and so convinced she had been wronged and so angry. It was as if she was the be all to end all candidate and nothing could ever be right again if she was not the nominee. But I'm sure I'd be feeling the same way if Obama was losing...I don't think I'd disrupt a DNC meeting or throw a hissy fit about an "inadequate white woman" but I'd be pretty upset, just like I was in 2004 when Dean lost.
