Hillary and her supporters have this week to get on the bus, or the bus is leaving
http://www.americablog.com/

Friends of Clinton who advocate a convention fight shouldn't work in the party ever again

"It would seem that a number of Hillary's top supporters, and a lot of her fans, are more comfortable helping a Republican become president if Hillary can't win the nomination. Some of that is, understandably, just talk - it sucks to lose, people are are angry. But at this late date, cheap talk is no longer acceptable. We have to reunite our party in time to successfully take on John McCain. And people like Mandy Grunwald, Harold Ickes, Terry McAuliffe, Howard Wolfson, and so many of Clinton's other staff, surrogates and rich donors have already caused major damage to those efforts. Hillary and her team have successfuly changed the national mood, of Hillary's supporters, at least, from one of disappointment that their candidate lost, to one of outright anger that her nomination was supposedly stolen away because she's a woman. That's ludicrous. Yeah, there's been some sexism by irrelevant third parties, but I just don't believe that Hillary lost because a guy is selling nutcrackers in the airport. Hillary lost this race because Obama ran a better campaign."

HEAR HEAR Get on the bus Gus or get left behind.

4. I'll hop on when I am damn good and ready
Really, statements like this really don't help. They have a bullying tone to them and that does nothing to bring people together.

I am well aware that most likely Obama will get the nomination. I am prepared to vote for him in November. In time I will probably end up campaigning for him. Just not right now. Not there yet.

Rather then insistence that Hillary supporters get on board right now, on your time schedule, it would do more good to sit back, wait for the end of the primary and then just simply be polite as they come around to working on the GE campaign.

I am not saying you were bullying, but rather that the tone of your post has that effect.

Just have some patience. Let things run their course and stop insisting on your own timeline, no matter how right you may think you are.

5. I think the OP was bullying
And I think that was the whole notion behind the OP.

I love your response, though. It's nice to read a rational post once in a while around here.

The bullying part is what I find so hillarious.

"You guys better see it our way, hear."

Maybe its all part of the Chicago/Mayor Daly thug mentality.

I find it friggin' amusing: anonymous bullying.

6. Show Respect And Decency
Hillary has done a magnificent job as a powerful candidate.
It is indeed unfortunate the missteps of the DNC as relates to
Michigan and Florida in some way has set Hillary back. The
disorganized and impractical caucus states is another major
weakness along the way. Hillary deserves our affection and
applause for a wonderful job. She has won millions of voters,
she has energized the voting populace and given them a voice.
This is not to discredit Obama because he to has done a
masterful job. He appears to be above the fray, but I worry
about his supporters who seem to be more like the DeLay DC Bus
to Florida loaded with ill tempered nasty boys and girls hell
bent for election to screw up the recount and intimidate the
poll workers. I think it's time for Obama supporters to
practice some humility and give others cause to join the more
urgent Call To Action and that is marshalling the Democratic
Nominee to the White House with dignity. I think it's high
time for the brash, young, sometimes crude talking followers
to zip the lip and do your Missionary Work with decorum.
While you're at it learn to see all the great qualities of
Hillary Clinton and acknowledge her efforts. Only then will
you have the necessary mettle to project victory in November.
No bus will leave the loading platform until all of us say it
can leave. No one will be left behind because a few juvenile
deliquents rough up the bus driver and threaten not to seat
any Hillary supporters. We are the Democratic Party and we
are all inclusive not 'exclusive'. In fact we're going to
have a Blue Bus and we're heading for all the Red States
unified, one voice. So don't screw up a good thing! ZIP THE
LIP.

7. Oh well, but most of Hillary's statements don't help
and have divided our party to the point of damaging it.

Too bad you missed the bus a longgggggggggg time ago.

12. Save it for those who deserve it.
Don't bait and shoot, there are plenty of rude, delusional Clinton people wading into well-meaning Obama threads that deserve it.

I hope you didn't miss the hint... it was italicized.

11. Well said.
I may be an asshole, but I reserve it for the dead-enders and children.

You are far too rational and polite for the handful of childish Obama supporters here. It was bullying. It always is when dealing from such a position of advantage where you know that those bound by reason will have to eventually do what you're suggesting.

Taking advantage of the rational people like that is rude.

I chalk this OP up to childishness.

Thanks for being an adult, it's good to see that about.

(God forbid I would take on that kind of responsibility! :silly:)

21. I don't think you are the type of Hillary supporter the OP is speaking of.
You have almost accepted that Obama probably will get the nomination and you're working through your emotions to move past the fact that Clinton probably has lost.

You also allude to the fact that, in time, you'll make the move to support Obama in the GE.

There are, however, many Clinton supporters who are treatening to sit out the GE or vote for McCain or push Clinton toward an independent run, all of which would help defeat Obama in the GE. You don't seem to be one of those supporters.

I may be out of place to say this, because I wasn't the OP, but that's my take.

FWIW, I don't really care who wins and will support the "Dee" in the GE, no matter if it's Clinton, Obama or an unknown third party that wins as a result of a brokered convention (unless it's Edwards - I just don't trust him anymore than I do a Republican).

I wasn't behind anyone because I didn't think our best Dems even ran this election season. My top three choices never even through their hats in the ring. Therefore, my opinion on this is about as unbiased as it comes.

8. No need for this post. I would agree with Marrah G
Think of it from the other PoV.

I would say the same thing if the shoe were on the other foot; "Don't tell me to "just do" something I'm perfectly willing to come to terms with on my own."

13. Well, throwing people under the bus is definitely Obama's style..
... but no. When he loses, the party will come back to their senses and hopefully stick to it's beliefs next time (universal health care comes to mind). You can't tell life-long Democrats (or converts either) they have to accept the mainstream media's Anointed One. They're old enough to vote, and old enough to think for themselves.

Second, this lifelong Democrat will not "come back" to install another production of the Bush-Clinton drama or support the DLC.

16. How soon you forget; Clinton was the anointed one. What happened?
That didn't work out too well for her. And why is that? Maybe people are sick of the SOS. Time to move on. You're invited, or stick in that old mindset. It's up to you.

17. Every article written about Clinton has come with a 'but....'
since day one. The mainstream media has been carrying Obama on it's shoulders. Chris Matthews might as well be his butler. They've sought to tear her down every chance they get. And yet she wins primaries - all the big blue states except his home IL, and now she's scoring big wins in all of these late ones. She's going to take the lead in the popular vote.

The system has been gamed for The Anointed One Obama, just like it was for Bush in 2000. Sorry, that just makes me suspicious.
