Poll question: Is the winner-take-all or the 50-state strategy better?
Serious discussion encouraged. On one hand, the winner-take-all strategy is probably better at unifying a party. On the other hand, the 50-state strategy is probably better at energizing voters in the party.

Also, what do people think the Republican Party will do in 2012 if (i.e. when) they lose the 2008 election?

2. I am not going to answer your poll question, per se, but...
Having a contested primary in every state has done more to energize people and get new voters into the Democratic process than anyone could have hoped.

4. I normally wouldn't agree with you. But after seeing a poll recently
that had BOTH Hillary and Obama beating McCain in PA, I will agree with you.

7. I don't understand the question.
As I understand it, the "50 State Strategy" refers to biulding a strong Democratic Party in all fifty states, as opposed to putting all the party's efforts into the ones they think matter the most in general eletions. "Winner Take All" refers to the Republican primary system of awarding all their delegates to the top vote getter, rather than apportioning them in proportion to the votes cast, as the Democrats do. The two things have nothing to do with each other.

8. Proportional delegate seating is a crucial part of the 50-state strategy
I guess maybe I should have clarified it more, but I think that most people understood what I meant. Answer the question as winner-take-all vs. proportional delegate seating.

Proportional delegate seating along with 20% of the delegates being supers virtually insures that it will be a lengthy primary season giving many states a huge voice.

9. Oh, OK, so you are talking about
proportional awarding of delegates versus winner-take-all. In that case, I vote for the 50 state strategy. Winner-take-all can result in the same kind of lunacy that the Electoral College can, where the loser somehow wins.
