A plea to Hillary supporters
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 03:52 PM by Cyrano
Resentment, revenge and hatred are among the strongest of human emotions. Whether or not I agree with you, I can understand your resentment and desire for “revenge.” But I cannot grasp whatever hatred you may harbor.

If you want to talk about hatred, think about what’s been done to all of us over the past eight CheneyBush years. It’s an era of that will forever invoke the anger, outrage, and yes, hatred, of the American people.

But here’s a simple question. Do you hate Obama? If your answer is yes, because he just happened to be the guy that opposed Hillary, then there’s no way I can ever get through to you and you might as well stop reading right now.

However, if you believe that the future of America depends on who wins the next election, read on.

John McCain is against abortion and would appoint more Supreme Court justices like Scalia and Alito.

John McCain is for the war in Iraq.

John McCain believes we should bomb Iran.

John McCain thinks that tax breaks for the super rich are just dandy.

John McCain thinks that voting against generous veteran’s benefits is okay.

And my response to all of this is that John McCain has lost the ability to think rationally. He wants to be president, no matter who dies, or pays the cost.

As much as it may pain you, Barak Obama is going to be our candidate. If you vote for John McCain, then what exactly are the causes for which you backed Hillary?

If you stay home, that adds up to one half vote for McCain. (If you have a math question, don’t ask.)

So here’s my plea. Vote! I prefer Obama, but I would vote for Hillary for president in a New York microsecond to get a Democrat in the White House. And if you refuse to vote for Obama, given the same circumstances, you really need to examine your own motives.

Your future, my future, and the future of our country rests on getting an overwhelming Democratic majority in the House and Senate, and getting a Democrat in the White House.

As Cher said in the film “Moonstruck,” “Snap out of it.” To which I add, please snap out of it and lets take our country back from the criminals who have stolen it.

2. You need to be sending your pleas
to the millions of Hillary supporters out there...........not on DU. Best to go directly to the major womens groups if you feel the need to make a plea for votes. There are only about 50 Hillary supporters left who even read this board.

Bush and Chaney have destroyed the country I once new. My only hope is that it is not to late to take our country back.

We can repeat this a few times:
>>>Your future, my future, and the future of our country rests on getting an overwhelming Democratic majority in the House and Senate, and getting a Democrat in the White House.

5. Thoughtful and well done. And you're wasting your time.
Sorry, but that's the truth.

I wish it wasn't so, but that's the way it is. I would have voted for Hillary over McCain in a heartbeat, but she has stirred her supporters to such levels of hatred that many would prefer anybody over Barack. So be it; it's time to get to work, and quit begging.

6. Yep! Obama is not the enemy, nor is Clinton.
Compare both of them to McSame, and there IS no comparison.

I'm an Obama supporter, but like you, if Clinton were the nominee, I, too, would vote for her in a New York nanosecond.

We do NOT need 4 more years of the kind of nightmare we've been living under for the past 7 years.

7. "Snap out of it" indeed. I have 3 sons, one is newly 18 and
McSame just isn't an option. My mother voted for Bush** and when it finally dawned on her just how much he'd lied and the magnitude of the consequences his lies, she snapped out of it and tried to correct her previous mistake. When Super Tuesday rolled around, she voted for Obama in the GA primary because of the 2 left standing he was as far away from that BIG disastrous vote that she'd cast for Bush** as she could get.

K&R!

9. Has nothing to do with revenge, hatred or resentment. It's whols the RIGHT and the WRONG candidate.
Hillary is the one to be President. Obama is just like w in 1999....promising 'change' in DC....a frontman for the kingmakers...no resume....no foreign policy experience. Look at the mess we have after 8 years. He's destroyed government agencies---they do no oversight now. w's cost us our brightest and best in the Iraq and Afganistan casualties and lost lives.
obamasheeple can follow him right off a cliff into chaos/confusion.
Hillary deserves the Office of the President of the United States. She's getting my vote.

watch those preacher videos again.....it's not just the minister/priest....it's the entire congregation whooping, stomping, changing clapping. You'll NEVER convince me the obama's somehow missed that in twenty years....never, in a million years. something is horribly wrong in that entire so-called church..something very sinister.
I want nothing to do with anyone associated with that group....and I want this nation to have nothing to do with anyone of that ilk.

11. It's all about the "other" then?
I'm middle aged and white and that church doesn't scare me, but it doesn't seem all that exotic, either. Rev. Wright is a familiar kind of figure, even though I've never been to a black church. I would never be inclined to take him 100% seriously. On the other hand, Hagee and Parsley - they scare the crap out of me. I look at them and I see something really sinister and frightening. I see Nazis and the KKK and other white supremicist boogymen. I'm not saying I'm right. They're just unfamiliar. They aren't indigenous to the place where I've always lived and they seem more different from what I think of as normal people than Wright ever could.

12. the ministers are the tip of the issue....watch the congregation...the entire "church" is on it's
feet whooping and stomping. there's no way in hell the obamas didn't see that....and they never did anything about it until TODAY. obama put his finger in the air and caught the wind that that 'religios' extremism is costing him support----big time...and did too little, too late. more political pandering from him. the man is so trite...READING others words for his rote speaches....reading in a preacher-like cadence. NOT anything I want to listen to for 4 years.

I'm vothing for Hillary. The SD's are going to wake up and smell the rove-like stink of the obama campaign. www.attacktimeline.com he's a fake. 120 PRESENT votes to avoid a YES/NO decision....that's a lousy resume. He's all talk...no substance...no heavy lifting. Again that so reminds me of w 8 years ago. gad I want to retch at the though of it.

And you did a REALLY good job memorizing the HRC talking-points, but PLANNED PARENTHOOD asked him and MANY OTHERS to vote "present" on GOP-sponsored nonsense bills that were merely being put forward to give the Repulicans something to hammer the Dems with in the next election.

When it comes to understanding the issues, it is YOUR resume that needs work.

Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 04:26 PM by IWantAnyDem
After his return to the United State in 1973, physical thereapy for his wounds suffered after abiling out of his aircraft and the wounds he suffered under brutal torture were treated.

There is no recorded psychological treatment of John McCain after the ordeal he suffered.

Can you trust such a man to have his finger on the nuclear button?

13. Obama is not the enemy of Clinton supporters...he never has been.
But, the actions, slurs, slimes, and attacks from his surrogates and supporters against Clinton make them our enemies.

Now that you feel you need our support, it ain't there any more. Pat yourselves on the back. Whatever goes wrong in the immediate future can be fixed later.

Half the party may vote for Obama if need be. Half the party may not vote for Obama. They may skip the presidential nominees; they may choose someone as a write-in; they may go on a vacation during the election.

Those of you who were so unbelieveably nasty over the past few weeks have only yourselves to blame. I am amazed that you have the guts to suddenly seek our help.

You Obama supporters are only half the party. Congratulations.

Obama didn't bring racism or sexism into this campaign. But let's not argue about who brought what up when, or who is to blame for whatever.

Your bottom line is that John McCain might well occuppy the White House for the next four years.

And that makes you my political enemy, and even though you don't now know it, your own enemy.

Enjoy the future you are helping to bring about. My only hope is that your vision of the future doesn't happen and that McCain doesn't become prez.

36. au contraire, mon frere
Obama was the first to inject racism and sexism into the campaign and blame it on the Clintons. And his surrogates and supporters have worked overtime to smear and alienate Hillary's supporters. I used to be open minded about Obama, but I think his supporters reflect the real BO. My mind is pretty well made up now.

Oh, I see the MSM is about to do a major hatchet job on Precious now that Hillary looks to be out of the running. It will be amusing to watch tweety and timmy and candy turn on Obama like rabid dogs and savage him for the next few months.

Precious had better start figuring out how to work up some mainstream appeal, before the pukes turn him into another Dukakis, or the pathetic John "I quit" Kerry or poor old Mondale. The bloom is off the rose for Barak and he has way too many fences to mend (Jews, Catholics, working class whites and Hispanics, feminists to name a few).

Dear friend, your call for civility and unity is just a day late and a dollar short. My deepest sympathies.

I will never vote for Obama. I've always voted straight D ticket, from 1988 up until the present. I have never voted for a Republican, and I am not about to start now.

But I will *NOT* be voting for Obama.

When he used us LGBT'ers to kick off his campaign with his hate filled southern gospel tour, I got an idea of what he's all about.

Obama has divided this party because his unbridled need for power and adulation from crowds.

He and you all (rabid, vitriolic, hatred-spewing Obama supporters online and off) have caused this rift -- and most of you would be singing a different tune if Clinton were ahead by the margin Obama is ahead.

And if you deny it, you're a fucking hypocrite.

I'm voting For Al Gore as pres and Jack Reed as vice pres.

That's just a fact. Their approach is entirely emotional. They are simply throwing tantrums, acting like little kids. If they can't get their emotions under control in the next five months, that's their problem. It's THEIR Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and Prescription drug programs that will suffer. They'd better hope they don't get their wish, or it will be a long four years for the old folks who fell on their swords for Hillary.
