Are HRC peeps counting MI in popular vote? |
|
How many votes are they counting for BO?
Since the RBC give his 46% of the delegates, does he get 46% of the popular vote?

13. In Soviet Russia you get to count votes for yourself when your name isn't on the ballot. |

I'm not even sure a last-dregs Hillary supporter would grasp a joke whose premise is a bizarro Orwellian universe; what would the punchline be, everything going back to normal? In any event, Hillary is counting "votes" from a non-binding straw poll in which Hillary and Obama both agreed not to compete, and you could see the strength of Hillary's argument when the DNC awarded nearly half the MI delegates to Obama.

5. If popular vote actually meant anything in this context, that might be a problem |
|
But it doesn't. The nominee is the one with the most delegates.

7. Not that popular vote means anything. |
|
how does one count the various caucus states?
And since Obama didn't campaign in Florida, should it be included?
And he wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan.
If we take the outcome of the DNC RBC, should we not apportion the popular vote in both Florida and Michigan to each candidate according to how they apportioned the delegates (and then only count 1/2 of each for the two candidates)?

10. Using numbers from a Soviet-style election is the only way Clinton can make her numbers look good. |

If there were some estimates available of how Michigan voted if Obama was on the ballot and a real primary with real campaigning was held, I suspect the results when the popular vote was totaled would be very different.

I have nothing against Hillary Clinton I almost voted for her in the primary and if she had won the nomination I would have had no trouble voting for her for president. Her people are twisting, turning, spinning and using very creative mathematics and logic/illogic to try and convince people that somehow even though Obama has more delegates that she should get the nod. This reminds me too much of the current crop of Republicans ie 'don't look at the facts just let us have our way. We know best. You can trust us'. The fact is this was a flawed primary season because of the idiots in Michigan and Florida. For the Clinton people to say that all decisions about these two races should be decided in the way that best helps Hillary is at best disingenuous (sp?) and at worst dishonest. I support rotating regional primaries to avoid this problem. No state should have the right to insist that they and only they should be the first primary/caucus in the country this should be up to the parties. Again I have no problem with Hillary Clinton, I would even support her as the VP candidate, but the fact is she has lost and hopefully this coming week she will acknowledge that fact.
