17. His estimates are from after today's voting
Clinton's campaign was hoping for over a million voters. Puerto Rico has over 2 million registered voters.

18. 30% of precincts is not necessarily 30% of votes
Not all precincts are the same size. Remember how George Allen was winning with 98% of precincts reporting in Virginia in 2006? Arlington County was 99% in but a few big precincts had yet to report.

9. Looks more like about 240,000

A rough projection suggests this will net a Clinton popular vote gain of about 80,000-85,000.

A lot less than projected.

13. Correction: about 270,000-275,000

I actually whipped out my calculator instead of ballparking.

That would mean a Clinton popular vote gain of about 97000-98000.

19. Who ever said anything about 2 million?
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 04:22 PM by carlaivette
No way would that be possible and no media or politician that i ever saw said anything about a possible turnout of 2 million voters, thats half the entire population of PR. At the most and going by the last US Primary held here(where high turnout was due to political parties battles) the numbers for possible turnout were 500,000.

25. Please do.
Because here in PR and in all the local interviews with Clinton supporters not once did they mention 2 million as a possible turnout.

21. WRONG
Puerto Rico has 3 million registered voters and in their last local election 85% of them turned out to vote.

In today's election roughly 300000 turned out to vote which would be a turnout of about 10%.

They certainly were not banking on a low turnout.

32. The numbers keep changing... It's up to 367,000

I guess CNN was pretty far off on that "estimated percent of the vote in" earlier on.

It looks more like Hillary will net about a 125,000 vote gain.
